Re: RouterOS IPsec Client Fortigate VPN Endpoint

First thing to note, phase1 lifetime settings do not match. You have 1day while they have 8 hours (28800 second). Make them match. Also make sure everything else matches as well. Set proposal check setting to strict, it will ensure everything matches (otherwise tunnel will stop working). Thank you....

We have the same problem which is very easily reproducible. Our system uses a FreeRadius to assign "Mikrotik-Rate-Limit" of 512k/10240k to clients. MikroTik assigns "default-small" as queue type. Small request: Move System Reboot away from System Shutdown

I have a small beta request:

Move the System Reboot menu in Winbox away from System Shutdown. Some of us only make this mistake once to shutdown router instead of rebooting it but the 4 hour journey in the snow will never be forgotten.

When you do device discovery with Dude there is a very cool option:

"Add Networks to Auto Scan"

Two questions:

1. How do you see which networks you have added to auto scan?
2. How do you delete a specific network from auto scan?

The text must not be random. A user should be able to add what ever they want, such as:

196.25.207.5/32 = Our e-mail Server
165.155.123.23/32 = Google Server #1
etc.

Super feature request: Torch with names

I find Torch an extremely useful diagnosis utility. I frequently use it to troubleshoot problems areas in our network, especially relating to traffic issues, worm detection, flow of protocols, etc. It's useful to see all the IP addresses scrolling up and down, and even more useful to do a sort by pr...

What is "route rule configuration" in 2.9.7?

In the 2.9.7 Changelog (http://www.mikrotik.com/download/CHANGELOG_full) is mentioned "added route rule configuration". Please could you explain what this is because it sounds like something I could use.

What I'm trying to say, in 2.8, you could look up the main table FIRST, then do policy routing, and then do catchall routes. In 2.9 you can't look up the main table first, and only if your policy routes fails it will look up the main table. One less step that was possible in 2.8. I will post routing...

In other words this different from 2.8 because in 2.8 you could have: 1. 0.0.0.0/0 lookup main (default router) table containing static and dynamic routes 2. any number of policy routes 3. if any of the above fails catch-all route to desired location In 2.9 as you route-mark traffic for policy routi...

Do route-marked packets see any other routes on the router?

I tried upgrading from 2.8 to 2.9 and some of my policy routing stopped working as it did in version 2.8. My question is do route-marked packets see any other routes on the router such as the static and dynamic routes in what used to be called the "main table"? Before in 2.8 the "main table" had dyn...

As far as I know keepalive timeout monitors the client's workstation by pinging the client. So if the client has a ICMP block on their firewall keepalive timeout should not be used.

Feature request: Advanced outbond load balancing

It appears two RouterOS methods for outbound load balancing is ECMP and source routing. Source routing is fine when you have only a few clients, but once you start getting hundreds and you have rely on multiple (cheap) uplinks in order to distribute your bandwidth evenly source routing isn't ideal b...

Will we be able to have protocol accounting with "/ip traffic-flow" ?

In other words, can we collect specific protocol transfer statistics inbound and outbound for items such as HTTP, SMTP, POP3, etc.

IP Accounting is nice but our more sophisticated customers are demanding protocol accounting.
