Re: route ospf error -> Discarding packet: locally originated

I'm experiencing the same error for no reason other than having upgraded from an earlier v6 version to 6.44.6. Immediately after upgrading, on a PTP link, no switches involved, 'nothing complicated', just a mikrotik through a wireless PTP bridge (UBNT) to this other mikrotik. I have tried the below ...

ipv6 dumb extravagance anyway
Welcome to 2019.. you must have been asleep since DARPA were experimenting with this TCP/IP thing.. that's ok though, we'll help you through it.

It all started with RIPE and global commerce..

Re: UKNOF 43 CVE

Totally disabling IPv6 before the details of the bug as well as how to exploit it are even public is over-reactionary and knee-jerk extreme, especially since MT has said that a fix will be available before the disclosure. Are you suggesting that people apply last minute rushed patches days or hours...

Re: UKNOF 43 CVE

For everyone here, I wanted to clarify, that to my best knowledge, the author of the CVE has not contacted MikroTik and we are in the dark as to what he plans to publish. "maznu" wrote the dates he sent it to you. Ticket numbers. Description... All this a year ago. What do you need more? ...

We've just tested the API with a PHP API class and we're still able to communicate and operate on the Mikrotik with v6.43. No changes were required thankfully.

Re: Mangle and routes

Hi Normis, Here we have a screen grab of the Mikrotik making rule changes and route changes on it's own accord (totally unprovoked and random): http://s17.postimg.org/7ln2xwjq3/Screenshot_2015_05_29_13_14_02.jpg As regards the Mangle rules, we have no scripts to create, alter or delete mangle rules....

OSPFv3 Routes not distributing to neighbours for interface

Hi guys, I've looked around to see if I can find this topic, hopefully I haven't overlooked anything, but the situation appears like this: Two Mikrotiks: RB1100AHx2 v6.7 RB493AH v6.18 OSPFv3 When I create any number of IPv6 /64 addresses on ether9 of the RB493AH they appear in the IPv6 routes list, ...

RB1100AHx2 randomly undoing/deleting changes without warning

I don't know if anyone has come across this before but we've noticed it on a couple of occasions with different areas of RouterOS on this particular unit. On April 14th, we experienced a PPPoE secret disappearing from the Mikrotik Today, May 28th, we experienced a route revert back to it's previous ...

Re: Error talking to server : sending back up email

Hi again, We're still facing this same problem down the road - now with an RB433. To confirm that emails are going out, we have an RB333 which is actually connected to this RB433, no firewall restrictions in any shape or form to interfere with the transmission of the SMTP commands.. the RB433 is hav...

Re: Error talking to server : sending back up email

Yea, either the logging isn't 100% thorough to show each and every step, or there's a huge issue with regard to that ROS.. Note that on the 4th line of each log there, they both receive STARTTLS command from the SMTP server to declare it's available but the ROS that's throwing the wobbler is trying ...

It's going to a relay, but, like the other Mikrotik, it's setup in exactly the same way as about 10 others which are operating as expected, there's little reason for this one to not operate correctly. It only seems to be this one :( All the other Mikrotiks have been sending their emails as scheduled...

Re: Monitoring battery voltage on solar panels

We have monitoring, I agree you could have the Dude running as a Server on one of the RBs but the volume of traffic from the Dude is quite large, we try and keep unnecessary traffic like that to a minimum. We have quite a large network so it's not necessary to have the Dude probing so heavily on the...

Re: Monitoring battery voltage on solar panels

Would that not require a Dude Server running all the time to get constant tracking of the voltages, or if you decided to not have a Server running wouldn't you only get the voltages at that particular moment instead of the constant monitoring?

I appreciate that functionality is there.. but what about the likes of changing SSID settings, scanning, changing data rates on a Wireless Interface etc, I cannot find that functionality there, along with other stuff.

That's merely a RouterOS summary with some changes possible from the dude.

I have but I find it's not exactly an extension of Winbox, rather it's an alternative. The Dude, as useful a...

Re: WinBox improvements.

Could we not see a more "multi mikrotik" environment evolve out of Winbox, instead of having a simple login screen for you to choose which router you wish to connect to - how about having a "tabbed" interface, where you can have several Mikrotiks open at one time in one Winbox, a...
