Yes the Metal 9HpN will work with XR9 Ubiquiti, You probably cant get the N speeds out of it because your limited to what the XR9 can do. Re: Alternative to 900 MHz sectors

I would advise getting the good hoz sector or omni despite the cost. The antennas are a very important part of the link. At 900mhz a clean pattern is very important, and you need the good antennas to get that. This reduces noise and increases gain. If you use a bad antenna at the AP you will end up...

Tryed the 2 9dbi Yagi trick, does not work, Good noise floor, Horrible distance, If your close to it you can pull some incredible data over 900mhz though I got a bandwidth test of one way up to 21 Mbps. Re: Preamble problem

Hi jordanTX, From memory the 8602+ is a 400mw card (although it does step back the higher speed on B/G) but for 5.8 the best it will do is 100mw!. However in terms of power use - when TX'ing data it will pull 1A (just the card). look at the specs here: 8602 datasheet.pdf I have the AP hooked up to ...

Re: Preamble problem

Hi there, both the XR2 and the XR5 need LOTS of juice to run properly. Some months back we had this same issue when upgrading from SR to XR cards on our RB's. (throughput slow, clients drop off randomly and yes sometimes the RB would spontanously reboot when doing a bandwidth test over the XR wirel...

I hear the word - rootenna again - also omni - both of which I seem to be having problems. I have a single omni at 100feet and a rootenna 1.08 miles away. No connection. Are pine trees really that big of a problem? I'm putting up a 18dbi yagi today to replace the omni. Is more power a good thing in...

Hi Jordan.... I would say there is your problem - the -80 to -86 signal level.... Once you get in to the -80 territory things can get interesting.... Is it possible for you to set the client end for say 802.11b only and/or set the TX/RX (on the client end) for 1, 2, and /or 5.5mbps (.11b standards)...

Even a 15dbi antenna should have plenty of downwards coverage for someone 700 feet away if it's only 50' up. What kind of CPE/antenna?

Im going to deply two of these on a RB333, but the "default" power output settings are not what the specifications say. Also same applies to a wistrom wlm54ag-6b card, the power readings in mikrotik arent what the card can do either, off by 2 db. For example the card has 20dbm output in 5...
