Re: OSPF loses routes after days

Hopefully it's acceptable to update to this thread. I'm still having issues. This morning I created a vlan 118 interface on the router with multiple IPs and then on the new tower router I did the same. I did a /30 between them (on this vlan 118). It worked right away up until about 9 hours later, at...

Re: OSPF loses routes after days

What if I have both examples? Wait - you are saying you have two IPs on one interface? ex. two different IPs in two different /30's at the same time on one interface and OSPF neighbor with both? If so, I think that is a bad idea, and it may be responsible for your instability. Whenever I have a sin...

Re: OSPF loses routes after days

If they are on different interfaces it would be point-to-point on both sides. ptmp is only if there is a shared subnet (as opposed to a different interface or VLAN) that connects to multiple things in a hub-and-spoke setup. If everything is individual /30's then just use point to point on both side...

Re: OSPF loses routes after days

I just checked all my routers. All of the ip, network (same being /32), and router IDs are unique to each router. Try also to change interface network-type. Instead of broadcast, it seems your configuration could be PTMP because it (appears to) has a central Router. This way, the routers will not l...

Check if there are several routers with same Id. Check also that router up address in loopback interface is correct, with /32 and network equal to address. Re: OSPF loses routes after days

The redistribution is the customer subnets, it's the entire reason I'm doing OSPF. I previously did it with static routes which I'm trying to get away from. I have a CCR1009 that feeds my customers. It has an ethernet port with OSPF doing broadcast. From here there are some wireless backhauls going north and other backhauls going west. Through the west backhauls there is an RB750. I've tried various versions of 6.42 and 6.43 (only the RB750) but all thr...

I can't change the remote side but I changed my side to 1gig full and it still did the same thing - the SFP info would blink. I currently have a CCR1009 that uses a bidi module. There is a spare that also works. Both SFPs work in both the SFP and SFP+ cage of the CCR. If I plug either module into the one SFP+ slot of the RB4011, the module comes up just fine. As soon as I introduce the light to it, though, the SFP keeps bl...

Re: PowerBox Pro

I love the Powerbox but it really limits where we can use it with only 5 ports. On even a small site we have a BH, 3 APs, Site Monitor. We're full with the bare minimum of devices. We're typically doing Ubnt and Cambium APs - roughly 4 watts per port. 8/10/12 ports would be a huge jump in use from us.

We are using software to make changes to our Mikrotik via API. The problem is that every minute we get a log in and log out entry, this makes it full quickly and consequently makes the log useless. It has been up for about 36 hours and is at heavy (upwards of 100%) CPU load. Winbox takes a good 2 minutes to launch, DNS queries to it (it is caching) are delayed.

I went to /tool profile and flash was 70% of the usage for a minute or two. After this, it seems to return back to normal.

Since PS3 works and even Windows 7 (MCE, not sure where the line divides) works, I think we can all expect it to be the Xbox. http://imgur.com/B8E9F.png Finally we c...

You can not route to an interface from which you came. In your case, you can't route from the LAN interface right back to the LAN interface. It's a Linux kernel problem.

Exporting log to syslog-ng

I am working on a project to have all levels (info, error, warning, critical) sent to a remote sysloging server, syslog-ng. At this point I have this set in MT: # may/21/2008 12:43:57 by RouterOS 3.7 # software id = NQWB-87T # /system logging action set memory memory-lines=100 memory-stop-on-full=no na...

From what I gather... Ether1: dynamic IP - Internet (WAN) Ether2: 192.168.1.2 - LAN Ether3: 192.168.2.1 - LAN ... Server is on Ether3, 192.168.2.100 If your desktop is also on Ether3 you can not route back to the same interface from which you came. The linux kernel will not allow you to do that.

You have been asked for the configuration.

Open up a terminal/telnet/ssh/prompt/cli and then type:

ip address export
interface pppoe-server server export
ppp profile export

Two WANs, cause port forward to not function

I have an issue with a network that has two WAN interfaces and one LAN. They are set as a primary and secondary and will failover upon invoked by a netwatch script. You're asking if ROS is compatible with that CPU? Of course it is.

Your worry would be the compatibility between the IDE controller and the rest of the motherboard.

Try posting what you're using as far as a motherboard and ask if there is anyone with experience with it.

I am by no means an expert, but I don't believe the router you're using is relevant to your problem. It is your VoIP equipment. You'll also want to note that there is not just one version of SIP. There are many variations of it, even though they all carry the name "SIP". You might want to look at ge...
