Re: Hotspot variables in return URL?

Thanks for your reply. I want the user to go back to the hotspot login page, not the usermanager page. While I can change the logo and provide instructions on the hotspot login page, I can't change the usermanager page (is this true?) to tell people what to do next. I'm worried that people are not g...

Hotspot variables in return URL?

I want to send my user back to the same hotspot and same page as they were at before they went to Paypal to pay.

Can I use the hotspot variables "link-login" and others in the user manager field "return URL"?

If I can't, how are other people doing this?

2.9.29 Queues - Diff btwn Target Address and dst. address?

Hi - I have a bunch of simple queues that I use to limit the bandwidth to my customers. Since I upgraded from 2.8, the queues have a target address of 0.0.0.0/0 and the dst. Address under the advanced tab in simple queue is the client IP address. Since the dst.address isn't visible in the queue list...

I think for two reasons (Some one tell me if I'm correct....) 1. At some point, the cross-network broadcasts get too "much" and would start to impact my back-haul bandwidth. 2. I would imagine that there would be security issues if all the traffic from each end of the network were visible to each cu...

New Routerboard - Can I use two 5.8 cards and one 2.4 card?

Hi - I'm thinking of switching from a "flat" network (using smartbridges and all backhaul and access points using 2.4) to using a "routed" mikrotik network - by mounting the routerboard (I think I'll use the new 500 series) on the tower and using 5.8 mini-pci cards for backhaul and 2.4 mini-pci card...

Do you mean a public NAT'd address? I hope not....

I have a public IP that all my clients are natted behind, and they _seem_ to be behaving according to the queues that I set up (just this morning!!)

I'd be interested in hearing from someone more confident about this than I am.

How do you do unequal upload/download queues with one entry? I want to give our customers 512 down and 256 up.

Sten, I think I know what you mean. I have the same question. You want to have automatic ssh logins, without having to type in a password, by just exchanging keys once. In linux, I would create on the box I want to login to (ala LInux Server Hacks by Flickenger) ssh server "mkdir .ssh; chmod 0700 .s...
