Upgrade to ROS 7.7 stable and see if the issue goes away. ROS version 7 was a major change and just released recently. Bug fixes are happening at a rapid pace.

Re: Resetting 411AH routerboard

You can log in through the MAC address. You don't need a working IP address to log in with Winbox.

Click on the MAC address in the connect to window and you will be logged in. Then you can assign an IP address from Winbox as you desire.

You cannot run your own programs under RouterOS. You will have to check openwrt Linux and see if they are supporting all the ports you need on the RB411U.

Have you looked at antennas yet and figured out your frequency plan? 900MHz antennas physically are very large and the available frequencies are limited.

You should consider a combination of frequencies. There is a lot more choice available in the 5GHz bands and antennas are small.

Yes, you can set it to other frequencies if your country allows it, but as the SXT has a built in antenna, there will be no use to do it, because antenna works only in the specified freqiencies. Re: connection Problems: IP175c (older RBs) / IP175d (newer

Hi, 10 Mbps full duplex is also no problem for the nodes. But this configuration also doesnt work with the 175d. And yes, we try our configuration with OS4.6 and 4.9 and we get the same result. 175c works fine, 175d doesnt work. rg, maxeschm You didn't answer my question about RouterBoot so I'll su...

Re: connection Problems: IP175c (older RBs) / IP175d (newer

Are you running the same version of RouterOS on all?

Are you running the same version of RouterBoot on all? MT would have made a new version to support the IP175d.

Re: RB450 Capacitors problem?

Roc-noc is where I received my bad 20+ RB450s. I wonder if they received most of the bad shipment. Unfortunately Tom has 6 of my defective RB450s and wont return them either fixed or for me to solder myself. Hopefully Tom can advocate for us with Mikrotik since he's been left holding the bag. Re: RB 433 and 3 x DCMA-82 cards dont fit

I don't think touching will be a problem as the "can" is a big ground plane and the back of the card should be the same.

But you could damage the connectors if there is too much force or stress on them. And the damage won't be covered under warranty.

No the radios will not work unless they are fully installed and locked down. Ask your reseller to exchange the DCMA's for Mikrotik radio cards. They will fit three in the triple slot. The only caveat is that you cannot use an MMCX connector in the top card slot with most of the indoor cases and stil...

Turn off nstream. It does not help when you are dropping packets. I suspect you are doing that but hard to tell without more details.

What is the CCQ at each end?

What are the signals strengths at each end?

Did you scan each end to see what spectrum was used and what was available?

Re: I’m too stupid for SwOS

I haven't played with VLANs on my RB250GS yet but make sure that you upgrade to SwOS version 1.1 before you give up on your configuration.

I believe it fixes a number of basic bugs in the initial 1.0 release like setting the IP address and rebooting the switch.

Re: 20 inches pigtail

The smallest coax that we work with (for custom cables) is LMR195 and most often we make LMR400 cables for customers. The smallest connector that we have for LMR195 is SMA or RPSMA. MMCX and UFL are much smaller and require much smaller diameter cable. We purchase pre-made pigtails in bulk for the s...

Re: RB250GS Manual

I don't think you will need a manual. Configuration is pretty intuitive. The default IP is 192.168.88.1 Just connect to it with a web browser and go through the menus. There is an SNMP option and a statistics menu with lots of port details so I will assume that you can access these statistics throug...

You can build one yourself for cheaper if you don't need more than 10/100: http://www.altsec.info/passive-network-tap.html
Nice hack but the 10% to 50% packet loss isn't very inviting.

Re: RB250GS - Use Ideas

I've got an interesting idea on one way to use the RB250GS. We might use it as an inexpensive "4-port ethernet card" in an x86 MikroTik. Essentially, we would use VLANs between the RB250GS and a VLAN-capable single-port NIC. Obviously this wouldn't be a bright idea if we were pushing a he...

It has been decided now.

My only question is, Why no training classes offered from the MT staff? Is this planned to be a mini-MUM?

Please at least offer the intro class. I believe that the MT training classes are a big reason to plan for attending MUM.

What is the ETA for the solution? One day, two days?
I would try the beta which you can download now.

MT is now closed for the weekend so we won't see their stable until Monday at the earliest and probably much later than that.
