had the same problem with hap ax3 and returned it to the store. They offer me a refund or to choose another one. Now I don't know what to do, I generally like the declared functionality of this particular model. As far as I understand, this is a factory problem, so there is a chance that it will be...

Re: 'ax hardware 'speed limit'

The specifications on the website show that SXTsq-5axD is slower than RBSXTsqG-5acD, especially with short frames (689.2 vs 1484.8 kpps)
ax2 can push about 2x pps of the SXT AX/mANT AX/wAP AX.
Yet their performance was basically the same.

2.0. The IPQ6010 only has a single USB3.0 "Port" (and 1 USB2.0), and that is in use by the LTE Modem on the Chateau. It's actually a controller, but the MTs don't have a Built-In USB Hub. Also no internal M.2 Slot. If you want to get messy, you can attach an external USB Modem to the AX3 w...

Better using something that uses the wifi-qcom(-ac) drivers as that seems to be the way forward So go with wap ax/ac, netmetal ax/ac2, mantbox 52/ax 15s, netbox 5 ax. If we talk Netflix specifically, you need like 16mbit/s for 4k. And I'm not kidding. Their bitrate is terrible
No clue about the others :D

But I was able to stream 1080/60 YouTube on a 6Mbit/s connection. (I think 2k worked too, but I don't really remember)

Yep, and besides the (IMHO) ugliness of the solution, from an engineering viewpoint, you are using something designed for 150 Kg load to bear a 0.25 Kg device, with a safety factor of 600!

If you can get a device with 2 wifi interfaces (2.4 and 5 ghz for example) and use one to connect to the ac3 and the other for clients.
The experience will be much better.

Otherwise, yes you can use the map as a repeater.

Re: Question about how wireguard and routing

I dont fully understand your question here. Maybe I am mistaken but I'd assume the traffic wouldn't flow unless you NAT'd it again when it is leaving the WAN but it seems that it does that automatically without needing a NAT rule set up? When you establish the Wireguard tunnel the router uses its IP...

No internal antennas.

You can use antennas with wires as there is a hole in the case for that.
Not sure how much the IP-Rating drops without the top case part. As you can buy RP-SMA Antennas with seals (See UAP-AC-M for example. But that one doesnt have an IP Rating at all)

Re: hAP ac2 (ac^2) speed issue

you can try fasttrack also
I thought about it but I don't see it in actions.

Fast track is in the filter rules menu not the NAT one

Yeah looks like hw accel isn't working.
For that we either need config or you send a supout to support

Re: Anyone uses AI for their config?

im not gonna say much about that firewall config (thats other peoples job :D) But, there's 2 things: 1. You dont have an chain=input rule, so you would lose access to the router itself. 2. You have a drop rule all the way at the bottom so as long as your traffic doesnt match any accept rule it will ...

Re: Anyone uses AI for their config?

It would be nice to teach the so called AI using code tags for code. What do you mean? Sorry I don't have an IT background. I told the AI to make it simple so I can easily copy paste the config. There's a button in the forum called "code". Or you can just add "code" instead of &...

Re: 📣 WinBox 4 is here 📣

Very stupid logic, sorry. If OS is not supported by MS, it doesn't mean that no one uses it. And there is nothing common between supporting by MS and by developers. I think your logic is the actually stupid one. If you run EOL Software that's YOUR issue not the developers. Does Chrome run on Window...

Re: Is PPPoE still slow?

Your ax³ should have 4× the performance of the hEX RB750Gr3 (according to MikroTik's figures). When you did your test with iperf3, did you use the -P parameter, for example specifying -P 4? Because even without using PPPoE, packets of a single connection are only processed by a single core in Route...

Re: WireGuard no ping

Can't check the config right now but to add to anavs post: If you got public IPS on both ends you don't need persistent keep alive. If you turn off persistent keep alive the tunnel will be on demand. So it will be established everytime traffic wants to go through it. (And can be established from bot...

Re: Is PPPoE still slow?

Which means you'll need something barely (5%) faster than the RB750Gr3 to saturate a Gbps PPPoE WAN line if you can use fasttrack That's actually quite interesting as I thought the AX3 would be faster than the 750Gr3. I once ran a test and only got like 950Mbps with the ax3. To be fair I do run VLA...

No mention of CVE-2024-54772 fixing? It was published on cve.org on 2025-02-11. And the first time it was mentioned here on the forum was in 2025-02-13: https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2024-54772 on the 6.X release they mentioned that this line means the CVE has been fixed. Its also present on...

Re: IPTV cuts and pixelations with Movistar Spain and HAP ax3/ax2

There is currently no support for multicast-to-unicast conversion outside the legacy wireless package. Well unless its this isn't working, that statement is completely false: https://help.mikrotik.com/docs/spaces/ROS/pages/224559120/WiFi#WiFi-Configurationproperties multicast-enhance (enabled | dis...

Re: v7.17.2 [stable] is released!

I am asking if there are any special ways how to do this or I can just go to /system/packages and install testing branch 7.12.1 by clicking on download+install?
Update to 7.12.1 by using download+install then upgrade to 7.18beta via the same method.

Remember to export config

May be you were never working with closed private networks that don't allow any external connections, or don't care about privacy/security? Sorry if I don't understand the "bridge" and "station-bridge" terms correctly. I'm used to MT wave2 where it uses different names but still here's an explanation: If you got a slave interface on the same device only the master actually controls the physical device. So only the ma...

Re: Question to our users about controllers

I dont know why everyone is so caught up on not having a cloud solution. All other vendors, including big name enterprise vendors are doing it. Or they give you the option to "self manage" or via cloud. Air-gapped systems are a thing. No Internet access? Well that's unthinkable in 2025? T...

Do you use a vpn or a proxy? Here Google Chrome uses proxy settings, and Firefox does not. But I wonder why this matters for login to the MikroTik Web GUI. As long as you don't have an exception for the Address it will try accessing the MT WebGUI through the proxy. Which I guess the proxy doesn't l...

ii firefox-esr 115.14.0esr-1~deb11u1 amd64 Mozilla Firefox web browser - Extended Support Release (ESR)
I just tried it on an old(er) ESR Version and yes the menu doesn't appear.

Not sure if the current ESR (115.20) fixes that. Probably not.
