Winbox v3.0rc12 + RouterOS 4.17 = no PPP menu

I don't know if this is the right place, so please move this post if it isn't. I am very pleased with the recent evolution in Winbox but I would like to report a bug. I still have some routers running RouterOS 4.17 and, after Winbox v3.0rc12, when I access those routers, I cannot view the PPP menu i...

Re: Netflow with 6.13 on CCR is broken

My existing netflow collectors are based on fprobe running on Linux sending to pmacct, which works for me so far.
Hi, could you post the fprobe configuration necessary to collect netflow from Mikrotik? I wish to use it to send to nmapng without having to pay for nprobe.

Thanks in advance!

1480 MTU and MRU. For ICMP you have to choose what you want to pass and take into consideration the direction of the packet. I think your selection is ok, Type 3 Code 4 should take care of fragmentation. Maybe you should also consider Type 30 (Traceroute).

Re: 3.13 so far so good? What do you think? Share your thoughts!

Ok, but this is an ongoing bug, already in 3.x (which I already use, so...), what I am asking is if 3.13 has broken anything new. You hate it or love it?

Re: Ros v3.x : WInbox question

That's not all... Look: 1 - Access your router one time with “Load Previous Session” box UNCHECKED. The WinBox screen will open empty; 2 - Personalize the windows as you need; 3 - Exit trough the EXIT button; 4 - From now on, access the router with the “Load Previous Session” box CHECKED. This way y...

3.13 so far so good? What do you think? Share your thoughts!

Usually, we only hear about a release when it goes awry and the last days have been pretty busy here... but how do you, brave testers, are going along with 3.13? Have you used it? Does it runs OK in RBs? And in x86? What about multi-processors? Any particular problem with any chipset or hardware? An...

Re: v3.12 crashing on x86

Oh, and another quick suggestion: As a Sys Admin like all of you I don't have time to check this forum so often. The release of 3.12 was announced to me via e-mail, so I think this should be the way to warn users about problems like these. Release notices via e-mail and complete crash notices only t...

Re: v3.12 crashing on x86

Can I give a small suggestion? I think the problem here is the enterprise culture. Obviously Latvians are a brave, corageous people but I think maybe too much =). Maybe MikroTik folks should do some sort of Release Candidate for each point release too. I think 1-2 weeks should be fine. It seems to m...

Re: <MAC>@<INTERFACE> DISCONNECTED, GROUP KEY EXCHANGE TIME OUT

The group key is used to do broadcasts in the wireless network. Without it, it wouldn't be possible to talk to all stations at once since each have a different dinamic key. I think you have a client problem. Altough several manufacturers claim compatibility with WPA2 + AES the truth is there are man...

Re: Reduce power in test environment ?

Hi JP,

Actually I'm not using XR2 anymore, switched to R52H.

Besides reducing power, I'm going to implement your idea. Much more practical.

Thanks!

Reduce power in test environment ?

Hi, I've done my share of stupidities, including activating an XR2 for a long time without any antenna attached. Now I am aware of the consequences but I still have one question: Sometimes I need to configure the wireless interface in test environments where is very awkward to attach antennas. Is it...

Re: Help fine-tuning XR2 TxPower

That's it?

I didn't know RouterOS could control the exact power of the card because there are so many card options...

It works for any card?

Thanks a lot!

Help fine-tuning XR2 TxPower

Hi all, I need to adjust an Ubiquity XR2 TxPower from the original 28dBm to about 20dBm in a RB600. I know the adjustments in the wireless interface can go from 1dBm up to 26dBm but they are relative and I think the default (17dBm) is the card's factory default resulting in 28dBm from the card, am I...

Re: How to reduce tx-power NL-2511MP (prism) Card

You cannot adjust the power output on a prism card. Use a long jumper...
What you mean with "long jumper ...." ?
I think he means to use an extra long cable (jumper) to connect the antenna to obtain signal attenuation trough cable loss which is usually known and well documented.

@rkorolev: Can you provide me some help on this FreeBSD script of yours? I'm having the same problem with my BSD servers. I plan to migrate all of them to MT eventually, but not yet (it's hard to let FreeBSD go like that =). If you prefer to continue off the forum, my e-mail is parrini(at)tdf.com.b...
