Re: Is Mikrotik's Firewall is enough to protect a medium enterprise.?

They released a faulty product (early version manufacturing fault) then made it difficult for people not in the US to get straightforward replacement, having no local dealers at the time. I also disliked the app-based management which required cloud connection to work, a...

Re: Is Mikrotik's Firewall is enough to protect a medium enterprise.?

I have used a Firewalla Gold. It can be put in bridge mode behind a normal router and still provide its usual traffic inspection and blocking. My reasons for dissatisfaction with Firewalla have nothing much to do with its capability. Today that J3160, with expanded memory and storage, is reinstalled...

MrYan, that thread related to problems for some users achieving only 1Gb/s where they expected 2.5Gb/s, which is not available in the RB750Gr3 nor requested by philip2284. Even if that ticket were a real problem, the RB5009 still has the RB750 for breakfast, albeit more expensively.

When you say "the label on the antenna and the hardware mac address don't match", are you sure it is not the case that one is the ethernet MAC and the other (antenna) the WiFi MAC? Usually one sees both on the label for wireless-capable devices. You expect them to be different.

Frank52, yes, 6.49.x and 7.x.x are different releases, which you can treat separately. I have older mAP devices running happily on 6.49.11, will soon be updated to 6.49.12, where the more modern routers (more memory, more storage, more functions) run 7.13+

Mikrotik never made Winbox cross-platform and I prefer not to use Microsoft products.
Winbox is not to my knowledge a Microsoft product.
WINE is not to my knowledge a Microsoft product.
Winbox works under WINE (or Crossover).

Now you can use the better tool. :)

Connect port I to ISP. It is a DHCP client.
Connect your computer to port 2 (or higher). It is a DHCP server, distributing addresses in the 192.168.88.0/24 range.

Winbox does not connect to which IP address? 192.168.88.1, the default? Connecting to a port which is not port 1? Using the password printed on the L009 label?

The WAN address assigned has nothing to do with the downstream address for your devices.
