The Dude database format

What format is The Dude's database? When I run the files thru TriIDNET it says its "XMill compressed XML." I would like to get access directly to the configuration data without having to export it to a XML file for read-only purposes. I would like to use The Dude as my main documentation system and ...

Function for find if a process exists

Greetings, I am trying to write a function that takes a single input parameter(a process name) than uses the HOST MIB to find if the process exists on the current device the function is called from via SNMP. Here is what I use for a probe to do this, but I would like to do a function if(array_find(o...

Re: Network map displaying question

Additionally you could put a webserver on The Dude server and do the meta refresh thing thru that.

Or use the "My Pictures" slideshow screensaver that Windows XP has and point it at the Dude folder via the Settings button.

Re: PROBLEMS with 3.0rc3

I have the same issue with SNMP on links showing [Interface.InBitRate]

Seems to be when SNMP is refreshing stats between polling cycles as the original poster said this worked great in v2.2.

This is version 3.0 release.

Re: Outage history

Ok, that works for me too. Seems that the Outage screen does not default to All for Probes. There doesn't seem to be any pattern to what the Probe drop down defaults to. On mine it defaults to a custom SNMP probe I wrote for our SonicWall which in the dropdown is greyed out since it is not added to ...

Re: Show us your map

Our main map which links to many sub maps Total devices in Dude instance: about 300 SNMP Links: 110 Note: The [Interface.InBitRate] thing started after upgrading to 3.0 from 2.2 and I haven't had time to figure out how to get rid of it. Seems to be when SNMP doesn't get stats or between polling cycl...

Re: Outage history

I am getting the same thing. I have tried making the device completely down instead of partially just to make sure it wasn't something with particular vs fully down. No Outage history shows up at all on the Left side bar Outage option or in the device that is actually down Outage tab. I looked thru ...

Dude interface error probe

I am looking to build a probe on a device that uses the the Interface.InErrorsRate and other counters to provide a alert from the Dude when any interface on the device starts getting errors. Does anyone have something like this already? I am asking before I pursue writing a function like this. Thank...

Ping times and HTTP response times on device labels

Greetings, I am trying to add http response times and ping times devices in my "Internet" map. I want to be able to get a snapshot of ping and http response times to Internet sites like google, yahoo and a few others. I have a ping one working by adding the following to the device label concatenate(...

Check if OID exists

How do I check if a OID exists within a function? I want to do a conditional if a OID exists or does not. I am changing the cpu_usage function to get results from different devices that use different OIDs than the default host one. For instance, I have a SonicWall, Cisco Router and the default HOST ...

SNMP current logged on user on a Windows XP/2003 machine

Does anyone know if Windows 2003/XP expose the currently logged on user via SNMP? If so which OID?

Thanks,
Tom

Re: Router DS3 transfer rate

Another thing I was thinking of was creating a Data Source for a Chart or a function that is the addition of multiple Data Sources(network interface rates). Is this possible?

Re: Router DS3 transfer rate

The router is a Cisco 7200 series. In SNMP Interface on the device settings within the Dude, I have a list of the serial interfaces which is what the DS3 is split into. Each T1 of the DS3 shows counts on their interfaces but the interface for the DS3 never shows any counts at all. Must be something ...

Router DS3 transfer rate

Greetings, I was wondering if anyone had attempted to show the transfer rate(RX and TX) on a DS3 that was split into T1 channels? I would like to see a overall transfer rate value for the entire DS3 not just broken out into each T1 like the router provides via SNMP. I am trying to do the following, ...
