Config is changed in v7
/routing table
add fib name=xx vrf=main
/ip route
add dst-address=8.8.8.8^xx gateway=10.155.101.1@main
/ip route rule 
add dst-address=1.1.1.1 action=lookup table=xx
router marking is not working in v7. Can you confirm it?

I tryed it according your mannual and is not working, it doesnt send markedpackets packets using that new way? is it really working? why did you changed, it worked without problem in v6. What does itmean vrf? main?

I solved it connecting disk from routeros to linux machine using usb, deleted file routeros v7.npk with 0b size and after that it runs, also there is configuration I installed before this problems

- it shows only read permissions
- i tryed to change some configuration, but after restart everrything is lost
- also reset configuration didnt helped...

v7 on x86/64 experiences

I upgraded my x86 router. I had to upload there .npk file to files. After restart, v7 was there. But configuration was completely deleted.

If I have virtual RouterOS - want it for dude and bandwitch tests. How it is with license. Is it connected to .vdi? Because sometimes it happened that I just need to copy .vdi to other machine (after hardware failure, reinstall). What happens with license? Is it lost or it is still working?

Same problem here, with LHG 5AC.

I cant upgrade LHG 5ac from 6.41 to 6.42.rc9. I tryed using system/packages - download and install after reboot there is still 6.41. I also tryed copy ros file using ssh filezilla but also the same.

Also there is missing download file for LHG 5ac on mikrotik site.

Microsoft makes use of own protocol named BITS, that is based on HTTP. The whole traffic is encrypted (SSL/TLS) and used ports vary a lot. Of course the fact that a client uses full upload on their connection does not necessarily mean it is due to this feature. It can also mean their PC has been hacked (trojan software installed) and is being used in DDoS attacks etc. Reading the FAQ document above it is easy to turn this feature off,...

Cant connect from windows dude to server, v6.35.1

On x86 with rotueros installation I installed dude server v6.35.1. The same I installed as client exe on windows 7. I am connecting to ip address of server dude, changed login and I cant connect. I use default port 2210. Why? Is any way to change server settings without connecting to it using client?

I added pci-e dual ethernet card and use this two ethernets instead of integrated and it works now in v6 like a charm.

Better indicator of noise. Noise indicator in status of wireless has no meaning if it does not take in account interference. (ubiquity has great indicator: interference+noise)

Also if it is very noise enviroment, routeros shows noise -113, but this is not real predictor....

I use now this one: Jetaway JNC9T-1037 power consumption max. 15W (with transcend ssd 512MB module), meanwell power supply, no casing needed, dual ethernet intel pci express card (from ebay for 40Eur). So full price aroung 200Eur. Works like a charm for one year. But it will need replacement for som...

I see this errors in rb2011 where is connected rocket ac lite ptt, 1gbit/s full duplex.
Many rx fcs errors.

I have eoip tunnel between mk1-----mk6. But changed mtu to 1546 only in mk1 and mk6...not in mk2,mk3,mk4,mk5

is that needed to work tunnel correctly without fragmentation to change MTU in all mikrotiks in the way? (mk2,mk3,mk4,mk5)?

It stops to transmitt and during scan doesnt find any network. The only solution is restart of routerboard.
Does anybody have problem with this wireless cards? It is in rb912 and I also changed it for new AC one model....

If I want to put just some IPs of /26 IP range it cant be seen in winbox, but what it worse, I cant see SQ speed limitation, cant change it. Why is it not possible to use range in SQ, like: 192.168.1.2-192.160.1.10..

Can it be solved, or do you plan it?

one that sends 2 ports of same ip over first wan and second mangle rule which sends all ports over second wan.
But the rule with two ports dont work, independent of that: the rule with 2 ports is on first place in mangle list. Why?

In my case also. I tryed ac devices (Mikrotik) and compared them to N, using TCP tests, but N was better than AC. So we dont plan to use Mikrotik AC devices in near future. What I heard from folks in ISP business Ubnt has much better AC devices (at least 1/2 faster than Mikrotik), so maybe we try UB...

Still having issues on this with V6.27 I have links that used to run at 75 meg not barely getting 30. But on UDP i can test at 100. Is their any way to fine tune NV2 as i can not find anything.

siae has 20dB tx power, Racom just 5dB. This can be very useful for long links in case of bad weather to use ATPC...

For distance max. 4km is Racom by far the best wireless link in 17,24ghz spectrum...

I am trying latest rc version and FASTPATH status shows in rb2011 that fastpath is off. Despite that is enabled in ip settings and all conditions for fastpath are met (disabled connections tracking, queues, mangle..).
What is problem?

Nstreme on 802.11a, on one site rb600, ros v6.27. Disconnects, almost every 2hours, despite great signal, SNR, minimal noise....after changing to nv2 problems dissapears, but lattency is high...

The frequencies are 100mhz outside of those devices, but still I have problem to get good throughoutput problem is mainly with receive.
Why, what is the problem? Changing channels doesnt helps...
Is any way to solve it?

This seems first time Mikrotik uses ARM cpu, will be packages for other boards based on ARM cpu? (like x86 package). And other interesting thing is Power, it is written that it is 2x more powerfull than rb2011, but this is too little for that specs (dualcore cpu, 2 times higher frequency than rb2011...

No this post was not meant to leave Mikrotik wireless...but to be better in wirelless...we need mikrotik and we prefere ptm devices Mikrotik with NV2 over UBNT (they are much cheaper, backward compatible, better throughoutput, minimal faultiness in comparison with UBNT)

According to some texts it is better to use reject instead of drop in case of failure....because DROP could kill your router....and make it unreachable

older versions than 6.19 had problems with 1gbit ports connected to 100mbit/s...it has to be manually selected 100mbit/s in eth. interface, new version seems to solve it...so this was bug of RouterOS - another point, after ros 6.19 bandwitch test for tcp is completely not working correctly, it shows...

Comparison is made between a dual core Atom at 1.8Ghz and quad core Celeron at 2Ghz.
I can say for sure that an Lamborghini is faster than a truck.

When I have in router routeros v6.19...throughoutput is 50Mbit/s (nv2, 2x2)...after upgrade to 6.22, or 6.20 bandwitch test shows very unstable througoutput from 17mbit/s to 30mbit/s....(20tcp, one way)...after downgrade throughoutput is stable, 50mbit/s...

Did anybody notice this?

I connected sextant to 23dBi sektor antenna in 20 000 people town, pretty noisy. The link from client to ap goes through town. DIstance is 3km. And throghoutput from sextant to ap is 10mbit/s (1 tcp) and 40-50mbit/s down 1 tcp.

I cant reset configuration it is in production enviroment. It is 802.11N, MIMO antennas on both side, on one side rb433ah + r52nM, on other side is sextant, distance is 500m, on both sides about 15 networks. Protocol nv2, v6.15, wireless-fp, tdma auto... I test it using bandwitch test utility in ros...

Good to know, my MT trainer told me to stay away from up/down converters , so I must change my mind :D Do not expect verly long range link... I suggest max 16Km, on 23,5 Km I'm forced to use pure 5GHz... ehm... For long distance link you need 2mt dish, with pure 17GHz device... I also have one Ligo...

I tried every queing method and different queue sizes. May be it is how small tcp acks are grouped in nv2 packets. It adds up with every hop and it is different in up and downlink. If you leave all the rest unchanged and set (e.g.) nstream the problem disappears ? No. As I have newer ROS installed ...

dual nstreme is like one existent but abandoned technology on favour to 802.11n, MIMO and nv2

I upgraded and used wireless-fp package with auto tdma option. The latency drop down from 6ms to 2ms...so this is great and comparable to ubnt devices. this problem is caused with Simple queues, when they are disabled througoutput is ok. I use default queue type, what queue type you recommend to use in Simple queues?

I am using mikrotiks as routers....ubnt mainly as wireless....now I started to use mikrotiks as aps(on ptm), not in ptp because of high nv2 latency....


so I can you for wireless what I want and also for routing what I want....not like you say whole:)

Yes in enviroments that we changed ubnt for mikrotiks we got higher throughoutput...at least 30%, in many case much more...mainly in noisy enviroment....

sxt SA is sector antenna I cant imagine it on ptp links.....it has 90 degree beamwidth.....use parabolic antennas + mikrotik in alluboxes and you get much better results and dont make noise in enviroment (like you do when you use SXT SA on ptp links...this are for PtM)

after upgrade problem persists...

here is the scheme:
internet--eth1-rb951(v6.10)--eth2---eth1s--rb951(second)--eth5+tunnel(eoip in bridge eth5+tunnel)--x86(v5.26)

I dont think that there is problem in both devices..and also in ethernet cables---because there are 2 different eth. cables...

I tryed USB, but router freezed after a few weeks (I couldnt login to winbox).
So I tryed CFtoSATA adapter but after connecting Routeros using this storage CPU usage was abou 40% more than using USB.


So please could you recommend me some workinG storage for RouterOS?
Routeros 5.26.

I have to WAN - based on policy routing - using mangle - mark routing(at one time goes traffice just over one gw, they automatically change from one gw to another). When I switch one wan to second WAN, the users are about 30s without internet.
Is anyway to change it without interrupt?

I upgraded routeros from 6.4 to 6.7 - successfully.
After this I updated routerboard in terminal: system routerboard upgrade yes
Then I restarted router....it didnt upgrade routerboard...

I repeated this steps 5 times, without success. Why?

I have rb433ah with r52n-M signal is -55/-53...when I change it for x86 and rb14 with the same cable, same cards, same pigtails, same antena....the signal is -80-79...I tryed different rb14, different minipci cards..same problem.
Can be this problem of motherboard? Chipset? Power?

I tryed on that board ethernet pci card, it worked. SO pci is working.
I tryed same routeros on another motherboard with the same rb14, same cm9 it worked.
Maybe problem of voltage of motherboard?

it is big shame that there is only ubiquity and mikrotik in this segment relating to price.... more companies...more competition... Mikrotik needs to hire new employes, like ubiquiti does that. They hire just best persons from field...

Mikrotik you could wake up and make protocol 10 years old update to be realizable on new cards and in new enviroment....
Dual Nstreme despite how old is, is very good protocol.
UBNT released device with 500/500Mbit speed for 5ghz (airfiber5), do you plan to make something similar?

I do btest from rb750up to rb2011, Download is ok and also speeds are ok. But when I do upload test, the speed goes from 40mbit/s to 1mbit/s, interface doesnt shows speed....
