Re: CRS305-1G-4S+IN PoE In not working with Ubiquiti US-8-60W

In Fact, Mikrotik uses Negative ground on most of their Hardware, while PoE is supposed to run positive ground with -48V to -54V Power. When using an isolated Power Supply, this doesnt matter. But i think, Ubiquity is following standart here, which causes trouble, because the ground connection short...

Re: Can a hEX lite router block URI level 7 requests?

Since this seems to be part of a Webshop, it might be better to setup a reverse proxy (eg. with nginx) in front of your server(s) to filter those requests. Also you might consider using this Proxy to have your TLS (HTTPS) connection handling, which might add to the overall performance.

RB260/CSS106 SNMP Access to SFP TX/RX Power?

Hello everyone, I have set up a CRS106-1C-5S as a primary Switch, connecting multiple RB260 (v1 and v2 aka CSS106) and an RB2011 via singlemode Fiber. While everything runs fine, i wanted to monitor the fiber connections, especially the TX and RX Power Levels on each side. Getting this Data via SNMP...

Re: how to get "Address" in CAPSMAN?

First check if both ends are using the same driver - Wifi or Wireless. I just tested this: you have probably set "discovery-interface=" in your CAP config. This means your CAP connects via Layer2 to Capsman. To filter via IP-Address, the CAP has to connect via Layer3 to Capsman. For this, ...

Re: Mikrotik CRS deletes all configuration on reboot

Can you rule out Hardware issues like a permanently pressed Reset button, preventing the Bootloader to install Upgrade packages and revert to a clean config?

Re: OpenVpn

You probably should setup "Push Routes" on the Server to get the route send to your clients, see https://help.mikrotik.com/docs/display/ROS/OpenVPN#OpenVPN-ClientConfig . This will only work with ROS 7.14 or newer on server side, the line is cut off on your screenshot, in Terminal you coul...

Re: Public-Mikrotik-Bandwidth-Test-Server(s)

Thank you for providing this!

I tested from Germany on a VDSL 100/40MBit link. I got 90 MBit/s receive, 37 MBit/s send with IPv6+TCP.

Re: IPSec and OpenVPN

Does your OpenVPN push the corresponding routes for all connected networks to the client? eg. you have your 192.168.88.0/24 route added to enable the client to connect to this subnet, now you add also the 192.168.89.0/24 subnet. On your Slave router, you add the Route to your OpenVPN transit Subnet ...

Re: PPPoE Client: Where to find PPPoE Auth-Ack Message

Thank you, this bings me a small step forward. I followed your Trick with separate log memory. With debug output enabled, i can see the Message being logged: Screenshot 2024-01-22 212340.png Now, i am digging through scripting to extract this, but this will take some time. Many examples of "new...

Re: PPPoE Client: Where to find PPPoE Auth-Ack Message

Hi, save the packet sniff into file, then copy pcap file from flash to PC and open in Wireshark. Hello, thanks. I already know this way, but i was curios if there is any "out-of-the-box" functionality to retrieve this information for scripting. I don't want to rely on a script to telnet i...

PPPoE Client: Where to find PPPoE Auth-Ack Message

Hello there, is there any way to read the Contents of the Auth-Ack Message from a PPPoE Connection? I am running a RB4011 with a Zyxel VDSL Modem. My Provider, on succsessfull Authentication, answers with a Message containing the actual trafficshaper Limits on his side (based on what Sync the MSAN i...
