Re: DHCP client option 60

In v6 it is possible to add custom options to DHCP client.
Thank you!
I confirm that configuration for option 60 is now possible and is working fine (tested on 6.0rc7) :D

Re: RouterOS v6rc10 pre-released

Just upgraded my RB333 to rc10: Both Ethernet ports 1 & 2 DISAPPEARED after "reset configuration", and aren't listed on interface list anymore

Re: DHCP client option 60

If you mean to set option 60 for RouterOS DHCP client then unfortunately it is not possible.
Really? This is a showstopper for me then :(
Is there any chance this will change in the future? It looks to be a simple change in the dhcp client code after all...

Re: BIG BUG- Unicast key exchange timeout

I was stuck with this error for ages! I recently found a workaround by changing the security profile to use WPA AES CCN (as the only option)! Maybe the problem is the TKIP support or something with the protocol negotiation. Hope this helps, as i've tried before with different NICs (R52 and Gigabyte)...

Re: R52H Faillure Rate Continues

Can someone please tell me how do I check if some R52H card is having hardware problems using the winbox utility (or other tools) ? gi, in winbox under wireless go to "registration", double click on the link you want to see details on under "signal" and status If an R52H is ill it will transit a lo...

Same issue here with RB333 and R52H.
Different client cards, but same result: "unicast key exchange timeout" all day long...

Re: ack prioritization

PS: 40 byte tcp packets with ack flag set are tcp packets without tcp options (SACK, window scaling, timestamps). So, these are the ACK packets we want to prioritize aren't they? I mean, my goal is just to optimize the downstream even when the upstream channel is full on a ADSL link, so only these ...

Re: ack prioritization

Correct TCP ACK prioritization is currently not possible with RouterOS. It won't let you accurately match tcp ack packets with zero data length. Perhaps you could ask support@ for it? A few versions had "u32" support which would have let us match those packets accurately but they removed that suppo...

Re: ack prioritization

in postrouting must be.
May i ask why? I'm too doing TCP ACK prioritization, and have the mangle rules done in prerouting. Whats the difference?
Just curious whats, the packet size you use? I'm using just the no piggybacked ones (0-40 bytes).

Re: DNS problem

I was convinced that there was some bug in DNS cache server too. Tired of weird random DNS misbehavior, i've started to sniff some traffic and voila, i was simply being dumb from the beginning: Every DNS query that was over the 512 byte limit cannot be transfered using normal UDP DNS packets. It MUS...

Mangle DNS cache traffic

I'm puzzled with basic mangle setup. I want to differentiate traffic to make QoS and queue trees. Everything works well (sort of), but i've never managed to get DNS right. The problem is that i see connections to the remote DNS servers originated by the router, that are not marked with "dns_con" but...

Re: DNS doesnt work propertly

Hello, I'm with a similar problem using RB333, see here: http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=21291 . It's a bit weird actually, as sometimes the DNS has a very good response time (after a fresh restart per example), but others it's just slowww... and the browser takes ages doing: "Looking ...

Router OS v3 DNS cache server problem?

Hello, I'm currently using ROS v3.0 on RB333 with last firmware. I'm Using DNS cache with "allow remote requests" on, so my users just use the router IP as DNS resolver. Default settings here, just added primary and secondary DNS ip's (ISP ones). Since i've starting using this system i've noticed so...
