Re: CAPsMAN frequency range feature

/caps channel add name=channel_38-48 band=5ghz-a/n/ac frequency=5180-5240 width=20 I absolutely agree. Auto-channel for 5ghz is useless in Europe as it will choose channels that are not supported by client devices (e.g. those that don't support DFS channels). Please add support for frequency range ...

Add support for Dual-Stack Lite CPE

Are there any plans to implement support for Dual-Stack Lite (IPv4-over-IPv6 tunnel)? RFC6333 RFC6334 Dual-Stack Lite is used by more and more European ISPs now (all major German ISPs use it) and supported by all the mainstream home router brands. It is incomprehensible to me that while Mikrotik is ...

GPON-ONU implementation in RouterOS doesn't comply with ITU-T G.984 specifications

The GPON SFP module is advertised as fully compliant with ITU-T G.984 standards. This notion is a bit misleading  misleading since the current RouterOS implementation breaks the specification by not implementing any of the required GPON authentication methods.   ITU-T G.984.3 specifies two authentic...

Re: Massive packet loss on WAN after upgrading ROS 5.26 -> 6.28

Routerboot 3.07 is abit old acourding to http://routerboard.com/RB450G
3.18 should be the latest.
3.07 is actually the latest available Routerboot version for the RB450G.

Massive packet loss on WAN after upgrading ROS 5.26 -> 6.28

Upgrading RB450G from ROS 5.26 to 6.28 resulted in massive packet loss on WAN traffic (NATed). As a result my single TCP throughput has been cut in half (5 mbit/s instead of 9 mbit/s) and the overall upload bandwidth degraded accordingly. According to tcpdump analysis, with ROS 6.28 outgoing NAT tra...

Re: RB450G - 100% CPU usage

I have exactly the same issues after upgrading from 5.14 to v5.26 on RB450G.

CPU usage today suddenly locked up at 100% without apparent reason. I had to reboot the device to get it working again.

Re: SXT are not for outdoor. damaged units

To those complaining: Next time you buy an outdoor product, make sure the enclosure has a IP (Ingress Protection) rating. Now, every half decent engineer would tell you that IP53 is the minimum IP code that should be used for equipment installed outdoors. IP53 stipulates protection against dust and ...

Re: Indoor deployment: Groove vs RB 711UA

It is an apartment building with two stairways. Currently we have two Picostations 2HP with 5dbi omni's on each floor mounted in each stairway. I am very pleased with the wireless signal propagation. I think the additional receiving gain we get with the 5dbi omni helps a lot with the weak signals co...

Re: Indoor deployment: Groove vs RB 711UA

Nice enclosure! They seem to be limited to 160mm length omni antennas which are hard to find. I might use the outdoor enclosure http://www.rfelements.com/en/products/e ... tionbox-s/ instead.

What antennas do i need for MiMo ? Just two ordinary 2,4Ghz omni's, right ?

Pozdrawiam 8)

Indoor deployment: Groove vs RB 711UA

Hi everybody, i will be replacing our Ubiquity AP's (a mixture of Unifi and Picostation) in a four-storey, concrete walls appartment complex with Routerboard Hardware. While the wireless signal propagation was satisfying, the UBNT stuff is performing very unreliable with Notebooks and mobile clients...

Bandwidth Shaping System Requirements

Hello, I want to use RouterOS in bridged mode solely for bandwidth shaping. I need to do bandwidth limits on per host base as well as priority shaping on service level. Does anyone have experience as to how much system ressource (Memory/CPU) the bandwidth management is consuming? I thought about usi...
