I'm hoping to get some insight into the same issue for setting up a new ROS based gateway router. I'm currently running pfsense as my gateway, I have a /26 allocation of public ip's That is behind one of their internal ip's. So I have addresses starting in 216.104.X.X that are tied to the providers ...
Here is the speedtest
This was the FLR9G30 at 10 km and 10 mhz in nstreme.
Pthroughput was reported at 5136 in the client at the time not 1800 as I wrote earlier.
I can but it won't be for a couple of days. I do have some speedtest caps from the tests but thats not the same as a point to point test from the AP to the client. I'll put those up shortly but I hope I don't get trampled for doing it. It was really informally for my own info. We have bad weather he...
Yes but it's the Mac address of AP XR9 from the FLR930 based client registration table. or the Registration of the FLR9G30 in the AP-XR9' Registration Table. It was too difficult to tell. I have edited the post and corected the screen caps to clarify at dslreports but I'll post them here as well. I ...
I appreciate you pointing that out to me .
I had named the creen caps so that they where self explantory but the naming isn't visible in the post.
I'm going to name them in the image itself to clarify.
I'm a wisp based in the Ottawa-West Quebec area of Canada. Xagyl comunications is my principal supplier of all things wireless from Mikrotik and antenas to Ubiquiti gear. The owner is an acomplished electronics engineer that was respossible for the foundation of one the oldest and largest Wisp's in ...
@nexus010 Hi, really am not sure am clear are you saying the board went off at the expiry time? Did the settings get reset or did it just go off? When you turned it back on was everything back to normal? Also, wow I know what you mean about your mast and clients you could loose all your hair for so...
Ok so this has now led to a worse case senario. I updated the licence on the rb433ah after paying for the new licence online. It showed me that it had updated instantly I rebooted it. it showed that all licence details where correct and then it shut down at 2pm. The clock on the system reset must ha...
I seem to have got caught in this licening loop as well. I have over 50 MT Access points. I have been slowly upgrading them to 4.3-4.4 up to now it has been problem free. This morning I was doing my rounds and found that an rb433ah is giving me 3.5 hours to fix the licence. I'm getting the *********...
Well I dodged a bullet then. I have upgraded eveything from 3.26 to 3.27 in the traditonal way. Do you think that my systems will be stable as I didn't save the settings off site ? I would assume if I was going to have a problem it would have shown up by now. Perhaps the fact that the configurations...
I have now had an access point stop passing traffic .
I thought it was client radio at first.
Rebooted the Mikrotik AP and still nothing.
Memory and cpu were normal.
Upgraded to 3.27 everything is working fine now.
I'm going to have to implement a mid day upgrade......nasty.
I'm not "seeing" any problems and I haven't got any calls but I'm not using mikrotik at the gateway only in my access points. But many of my access points route from their ethernet (backhaul) to subnets assigned to their wlan anlong with a dhcp server. I will nontheless upgrade but I'm wond...
I know that 3.26 was supposed to fix a problem with settings being erased when upgrading to 3.25 but I did have that problem when upgrading an rb-333 that was at 3.25 to 3.26. It was one board out of 50 but it was an important access point. I lost wireless contact after the upgrade and had to drive ...
I can't add anything new as I downgraded everything except the one MT-MT link that I had upgraded it remains fine but I don't have any mixed manufacturer Pt->MP that I'm willing to test this on. This is production for me so I'll have to wait and see what comes of this in the forums. If it's going to...
I started upgrading Ros 3.23 last night. In every instance I saw a drop in ccq ,connection rate and throughput. Ack seems to be the source of the problem. Clents that would normally sit at 56ms and are physically 3 km away are now all the way out to 488ms. Connect rates have gone from 48/48 to 1/18 ...
Thanks for your reply but from what I can understand so far the superAG features ie framer, bursting and compression can be enabled in both Mt and Ubiquiti without 4omhz channels. Certainly in the setup I'm running between the 2 NS5's I am not running 40mhz channels and the performance gains are cle...
I can't find any references in the manual or the forum on how to use superAG features in MT. As the feature is available in Ubiquiti's 5Ghz gear I was wondering if there are settings in MT to allow interoperation ? Is nstream the MT equivilant ? In that case will it interoperate? Any advice ? I have...
Surfertim are you saying turn the power down below default ? As I understood the MT power offset issue was a problem if you manually entered in the "correct" power for the card .(XR5 and XR9 as well.) Both by Ubiquity and MT indicate that default is correctly adjusted for the card. Have I ...
I haven't had the time to follow up on this for some time .I have been in the trenches. I never got the Rb333 with either the XR2 or the SR2 as a standalone access point. nor did I get them to to work with an XR5 on another RB333. The soloution was to put up the crossroads and walk away from the rb3...
I have read about problems with crossroads and later versions of Ros. I'm currently running 3 boards on Ros 3.7. 2 are fine one is deaf I don't know if this is the problem or something else. So I started to search and got this http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=22709&p=109449&...
I understand the impact of wds. I don't think I understand that the bridge would divide throughput..? If so divide what ? the total avialable bandwidth ? or the total speed of the ethernet interface. Are you sayin the bridge statically devides data? So as I have an XR5 and 3 wds connections on it th...
No I haven't but lastnight I tried swapping out the XR2 for an SR2. The clients show slower overall connection rates in registration. some that were tx11/rx5.5 are tx5.5/rx2 .Which is probably a reflection of the power and sensitivity issues with the cards. Throughput improved to 1 mbs and but is ji...
Hey snowpro! I've tried b mode only, not helping .what is not making sense to me is that I had an 8186 in B/G driving these clients way better than this. I upgraded with better quality of service for more upcoming customers in mind. I also had these same customers on a smc2888m which is atheros base...
Ok I have spent the day going over the potential of this being related to power and have crossed it off the list of suspects. I started with a call to my supplier he indicated that a 24v 1amp supply should be more than adaquate. I tested this nonetheless and saw that it was draining .25 of an amp wh...
Hi Guys Thanks for your "input". I'll grab a PS tomorrow if I can find one. Airstream do you have a link for the PS you are using. I'm "currently" using 24v 1a PS. Supplier siad it would be plenty...... I see I can give it 48 V but the board does not work with IEEE802.3af complia...
Running XR2 and XR5 on RB333 ROS 3.7. Been having terrible throughout problems to my clients on this AP (XR2) I spent considerable time testing this installation before putting it into production. In trials all my clients connected with good throughput and connection rates. Clients are 8186,2511,Cro...
I'm Just getting into trials for 900mhz using XR-9 on RB-333 and RB-400. ROS3.5 So far so good but a lot of trial and error was needed as there doesn't seem to be a best practices doc from ubiquity. I'm hoping to tap into some real world experience to shorten my curve to getting this into production...
Yes I'll add to this that your link budget is more that adaquate. I have shot a 5.8Ghz 18mile link with 2 27dbi dish's and 2 100mw cards. There was more than enough signal , 48 mb connection rate, although throughput was poor because of long ack. I have since divided the link in 2 and more than doub...
Yes I'll add to this that your link budget is more that adaquate. I have shot a 5.8Ghz 28km link with 2 27dbi dish's and 2 100mw cards. There was more than enough signal , 48 mb connection rate, although throughput was poor. I have since divided the link in 2 and more than doubled the throughput. On...
Hi Rodneal speaking for my self this helps a lot.
The only issue I can see here is whether my supplier will be able to swap my SR's for XR's.
So far I only have the 4, enough to test and tentativly push into production.
Anyway that was the ray of light I was looking for.
Cheers!
That is noteworthy gmeyer because I'm not having problems with the SR5 . I would have bought the XR5 but my supplier was out of stock. I can confirm that the XR9 seems to be working but I have put more focus on the SR2 issue as it is is more central to my existing network. I will certainly be taking...
On Saturday I saw the ROS 3.2 release and promtly downloaded/installed into my test systems. There is a marked improvement in connectivity. However large issues remain. I managed to get connecton and data to move with all of my test client equipment. (read previous post) The laptops and client radios...
Hi, I'm was planing to improve my WISP network with MT. I just purchased 4 x RB 333 one week ago they came equiped with ROS 3.RC10 an imediatlly upgraded to ROS Ver 3.1.this was done by my certified reseller who also took the time to show me the ropes with MT. This is to replace existing equipment a...
