speculation : could this higher performance be due to PROPERLY WORKING hardware compression of atheros cards? We all know that bandwidth test uses compressible data, at least to some extent.

thanks martini, how is it possible that there is just so small portion of people here that can provide real answers?? I will perform extensive testing next Monday and Tuesday, I guess around 6 hours will be devoted to hardware compression tests (2.9.1, 2.9.2 versions) and nstreme2.

maybe hyperion is in the same situation as I was - I received several Aironets for free. They are ISA, so very old... when we bought some equipment, those cards were still there because nobody was willing to pull them out. Then, it makes excellent usage :)

We didn't use RB, we used normal ATX Celeron desktops with PCI 3Com 905 or Intel Pro/100 cards. Simply the autonego feature is somehow broken and doesn't work correctly, but this is not problem of MT software.

Changing frequencies didn't help me, that was the first thing I've done. I could change RF part (antenna, pigtail, cable), but it doesn't make sense for me as signal level is not changing and overall quality readings (ccq etc) are 75.

I didn't say they don't work, but don't forget to upgrade your BIOS on motherboard when trying to use xeons. Intel had screwed up something, feel free to browse their archives. You need new BIOSes to avoid unexpected shutdowns of OS - and this is not OS dependent.

John, another observation : when I choose dynamic-size on AP, client shows exact-size -> probably bug.
