Re: wAP AC units over POE don't get enough power.

Did you try with new power adapters? When PAs age, some capacitors may dry out (or bulge, those can be quite easily spotted)) and whole PA starts to malfunction in weird ways, e.g. the output power is not filtered, can contain dips in voltage which in turn can upset powered device. Also devices (wA...

No issues, what voltage do you use to power this up and what is the loaded voltage at the unit?
Measured voltage at 23.2VDC at one problematic unit.

wAP AC units over POE don't get enough power.

Has anyone else had POE issues with wAP AC units lately? I have 6 units that will fail to power on fully unless I turn off the 5GHz radio. The cabling is CAT 5e and if there is a short run it works well, if its 100ft of cable this will not get enough power to run. I have swapped out APs and power in...

iPhone and Hotspot = Half a page then quits

Ok, I like to use my iPhone for troubleshooting because its right at hand, but lately I can only authenticate then get about 1/2 page before something kills the download. I have looked at firewall issues and tried to monitor with Torch, but nothing seems obvious. I have other Mikrotik APs without Ho...

Re: Does ECMP work with Hotspot?

Does ECMP need any RIP or OSPF setup in order for it to work???

Re: Does ECMP work with Hotspot?

Just to clarify though,

You are saying that it should work as advertised and I am doing it right?

There is no special NAT rules or Firewall problems to fix.

Thanks.

Re: Does ECMP work with Hotspot?

I actually tried to upgrade to 3.4.

I found that Web Proxy broke after the upgrade. The box seemed somewhat unstable after the upgrade but I didn't test it for too long.

Is there a trick to getting Web Proxy working on 3.4? The box had a problem creating the file and/or starting the service.

Does ECMP work with Hotspot?

I am trying to get 4 PPPoE modems working with ECMP through Hotspot. When I enable Hotspot with all 4 modems connected via ECMP and no traffic goes through Hotspot. Traffic will go through the ECMP gateway via a different network interface, one that Hotspot is not enabled on. If I disable ECMP and j...

Re: PPPoA DSL Modems and Transparent Bridging

So do you find that the ECMP implementation is fast? In fact these Actiontec will put the public IP on the VLAN interface like you say, and I did get it working on ver 3.4 however the hotspot and webproxy both broke when I upgraded to 3.4. The traffic was going through the MT but it seemed kinda slo...

Re: PPPoA DSL Modems and Transparent Bridging

They are Actiontec modems. They work as far as I am concerned. I just wanted to know how you are using the connection they provide. I am trying to build a big pipe out of 4 of these pppoe connections to serve a campus network. Getting them all to act as one gateway is giving me problems. I just was ...

Re: PPPoA DSL Modems and Transparent Bridging

nz_monkey, Want to go for two beers? I got all the DSL modems configured on the switch now I am having a huge problem trying to get load balancing working. I installed the new beta 3.4 and now the Web Proxy doesn't work either! (I can go without proxy for a while if I get the DSL lines pumping) How ...

Re: PPPoA DSL Modems and Transparent Bridging

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I tried your suggestion I wanted to let you know it worked perfectly - the FIRST TIME!

Now I need to go back and fix load balancing while also using the Web proxy feature.

If you ever are in Phoenix, AZ and are thirsty for a beer there is one waiting.

PPPoA DSL Modems and Transparent Bridging

I am not new to Mikrotik but this is the first time I have needed to ask the community for help. I have been using an off the shelf Linksys RV042 to load balance 2 DSL modems in transparent bridging mode, then using that Linksys box as the gateway for my Mikrotik. Now I have expanded the DSL lines f...
