Packet Sniffer will not stop running!

I'm streaming the packet sniffer tool to a machine running Wireshark, but I cannot stop the packet sniffer on the routerboard. It responds to the "stop" command with the following: action timed out - try again, if error continues contact MikroTik support and send a supout file (13) This is pulling a...

Re: Netinstall 3.7 destroys RB532(A)??

I just tested this on a 532a and it updated successfully. What did you set the IP to when you click "Net Booting" in Netinstall and what did you set your NIC to on your notebook?

I use 10.1.1.1 on Netinstall and 10.1.1.10/8 on my notebook as an example.

Re: Routerboard as switch is it possible?

This is exactly what I want to do with a RB192, great post! If I understand correctly the RB192 has 2 switch chipsets, one for ports 1-5 and the other for 6-9. I can successfully configure ether2 as master with slaves 3,4,5 and ether6 as master with slaves 7,8,9. ether1 is a DHCP client to my office...

Routing Package disabled?

What does the routing package do specifically? I ask because I'm testing a RB192 (RouterOS 2.9.51) at home with a PPPoE connection to my DSL provider and noticed that the routing package is Disabled, however my home network's connection is just fine. Is the package for enabling/configuring routing p...

Nstream Dual WEP

Is there a detailed tutorial on setting up WEP over a Nstream Dual connection between 2 RB600's? I tried using the following link, but have some questions: http://www.mikrotik.com/testdocs/ros/2.9/interface/wireless.php Would I need to set the 2 wireless cards in each RB600 to use the newly created ...

Nstream Dual configuration concern

I have setup a test Nstream Dual connection for the first time and it works, but do I need to set each wireless card's NStream to enable and Framer-Policy to exact size ? I set the Framer-Policy to exact-size when I initially configured the Nstream Dual connection using this command: [admin@MikroTik...

Bandwidth test crashes RB600

If I leave the default values for "Local UDP Tx Size" and "Remote UDP Tx Size" at 1500 it will crash and reboot my RB600 when testing in the SEND direction to a RB411.

However, if I set the Tx size to 32 it seems to run fine. Is this a known issue and how large can I go before it crashes?

UM Mac-Authentication with automatic login

Is it possible to configure a user within User Manager to be automatically logged in by using their mac address as the username? I tried the following: /tool user-manager user add username=XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX subscriber=hs_admin But I still have to enter my own mac address as the login username when r...

RB600 Serial Cable issue

I have a customer that bought a RB600 and couldn't connect using the same serial cable he has been using for a long time on previous generation RouterBOARDs. When he switched to a different cable it worked just fine, but on the original cable the terminal would get as far as "Starting Services" and ...

Using Radius Authentication with Hotspot web interface?

Here is my situation: I have a customer that only allows local office users to connect to a special set of pages on a website. Outside of their office network the public can only see general pages. They would like outside users who have an account on a Radius server to be able to authenticate and co...

Dude crashes Mikrotik Crossroads

My co-worker and myself are testing The Dude software and it appears to keep locking up the Crossroads board we are testing. I loaded Dude 3.2 onto the board and my co-worker is using The Dude client on his notebook. He logs into the hotspot, opens Dude, connects to the Crossroads board to pull stat...

Can this also be done by using the MAC Login type within the server profile? I tested this by creating a user with the username as the wireless adapter's MAC on the notebook.

Crossroads hotspot automatic connection

I setup a hotspot with a walled garden on a MikroTik Crossroads board and I'm trying to configure it so that when my notebook is connected to the hotspot it will automatically authenticate/connect with an "administration" user profile. Is this possible? If so what steps need to be taken?

Crossroads LEDs

I recently setup a Crossroads board as a hotspot and when using PoE I notice that the top green LED blinks green at a steady pace.

Is this a normal indicator that PoE is working?
