Re: Does this program support SNMP traps?

Well I keep seeing old posts from over 2 years ago saying that trap support is coming soon. And then every time I try to find info about it everyone goes all quiet on me like I'm harry potter and have just said Voldemont or something.

Does this program support SNMP traps?

So everyone keeps saying the betas support it. Does it actually and how do I set it up? I already have my routers forwarding trap info to my IP address. What else do I have to do?

What are all these little network segment clouds?

Every time I do a scan I always get all these network segment clouds. What are they for?

A better Mib library?

So I have dude 3 beta 7 and the MIb library doesn't have support for the printmib object which helps me to get toner levels from all my printers on the network. Is there a way to import a better library into dude?

Does the dude support WMI?

Does the dude support WMI? I don't like the way that SNMP in the dude handles disk space. It averages together all of the disk capacities into that one percentage. I know I can get to each individual disk through an alternate view, but It'd be nice to have them out in plain sight so that idiot users...

Oddities with switches

So I noticed that when I scan my network, some of the switches show a couple of the computers connected to them, while others don't show any at all, but none of them have ever showed all of the computers connected to the switch. why is this? Any workarounds

Re: Email Notifications in dude and SMTP

That's absolutely retarded. Yeah, it may not be hard to set up an SMTP server, but that's not the issue. Security is. If people figure out your SMTP server, they have free range access to spam the hell out of people using your server. Awfully obvious feature is completely looked over.

Email Notifications in dude and SMTP

Okay, so dude has that feature that will email you notifications about the network. And I've gotten it up and running just fine. However, it only allows me to specify the smtp server and an email address for who it's from. And that's all fine and dandy if you have an smtp server with no security. Bu...

Ping a subnet through NAT?

Okay, say I have some public IP address 64.0.0.1 or something like that. And that address is basically to a router on my home network. (no my actual IP mind you) Is there anyway for The Dude to scan my private network if I enter my public IP into the scan field? I have one Set up with 192.168.0.0/24.

Re: 3 questions about The Dude (errors, email, and multihoming)

Actually, I found out why the XP machines didn't show up. When I installed Dude on the 3rd xp machine it opened it up in windows firewall. So I just disabled windows firewall on the other two machines and they showed up just fine.

Re: 3 questions about The Dude (errors, email, and multihoming)

The two XP machines carry default XP settings. Pretty much the same as all the other machines. The 2003 server has much higher security settings than those XP boxes. So I would expect the xp boxes to show up. As for your answer to #1, I know I can supply the address range to scan, but will the progr...

3 questions about The Dude (errors, email, and multihoming)

Okay, so I got this tool yesterday and it's not as if the documentation is crystal clear or even complete, so naturally I have a few questions. 1. Does The Dude support multi-homing? We have several servers that have dual NICs in them on separate subnets. We would like to monitor just one of the sub...
