there is no such feature in dude. You, probably, can create some bash(or whatever) script, that will query every device, get every port MACs, and interpretent info. Not seem to be ease, huh
What is CMI module? Some time device, connected to LAN? Your dude on other PC in LAN?
If so, maybe during discovery Dude open some ports on CMI, and CMI stale waiting continue of that conversation, which Dude can't give to him?
There is no such feature. You can move you log files by script in windows sheduller. Also, you can send all your events to syslog on other(or same) host, which will be write it to any location you want.
there is not such feature, but you can make fake Probe/Function, which will always be "Discovered" on new device, then will go down on first probe, send you notification.
And then, you will need to remove that service from your new device manually.
I can't wait! I did it myself  On cacti forums i finded graph disk IO, whitch uses OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.13.15 My linux host with net-snmp v5.3.2.2 showed all values under that oid. By searching that oid in google, you can find that link http://www.oidview.com/mibs/2021/UCD-DISKIO-MIB.html I'm p...
If you need more "Failover" look alike you can create double set of your devices. One map with DevicesArrayA->AgentA, DevicesArrayB->AgentB Second map with DevicesArrayA->AgentB, DevicesArrayB->AgentA Every physical device will be represented by too objects in dude. "->" means &q...
Yeap, i digged in default functions too :) I was hopped, that there is some variable definitions, which/while statemts, and so on :) Some strange thing i discovered today, scripts string string_compare("STRING","STRING") will return 6 (!!!) and string_compare("STR",&quo...
does SNMP need to be installed on both servers? What permissions do i need in order for such function to work? 1)You need SNMP server software installed on host, which you want to query. You Dude server only generate SNMP requested, by himself. 2)What do you mean, by "permisions"? If you ...
When I said "All my probes" I meant "All my probes return in 10 sec" no "All my probes return Timeout" :) Just finished test: -Created empty server(cleared dude "data" folder) -added new device with telnet and ping -added "dns" service (there is no a...
You can put any value from any script in your snmpd.conf and represent it as OID. Then read thats oid from Dude.
If you can grab that values from you hardware in you OS - you can monitor it.
Try to google "snmp disk io" or something like that.
Sweetdude: Does your timeout interval work correctly? All my probes return result "Timeout" after 10 seconds of probing. Whenever i set timeout even to 24 hour, in both server, map and device settings.
what you mean by "design"? What it looks like, or how it place devices by discover?
If you want to auto layout your devices by layer 2 - that's will not happen Dude created for Wireless networks, so there is no "Port Number" in first place.
on remote dude you only need to have admin user, which will be used to connect to remote dude, from parent server.
No any map and objects needed on "child" dude.
your labels seems like to disappear because of get_snmp timeout or something like that.
you can try to manipulate all oid function parameters. Maybe it will help.
You need to create to objects on map B, and A with same ip addres(to your probes work correctly, if your probe address dependent) Then turn you map view mode to "Dependency" (top rigth corner of map), and add add dependecy B->A - that mean A depend from B. "B" must have only one ...
you can't run it witout X, but you can run it with X framebuffer, without login(user) session.
And there is no plan from developers to port dude to *nix. Maybe wine will grow up sometime to fully support dude
Maybe you can disable some snmp parameters on cisco routers(don't know can it be done on cisco or not)
If you only need ping, than create fake snmp profile, or disable snmp read at all for dude ip address
With Linux shutdown security will be the issue. You can: - login by ssh as regular user, sudo send shutdown - login by ssh as root, send shutdown Linux: ssh <user>@<hostname> -c 'sudo shutdown' Windows(Putty): echo sudo shutdown > FILE && putty.exe <user>@<hostname> -m FILE in first case whe...
Lets share some our custom tools! I have putty portable (http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/putty_portable) and WinSCP Portable(http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/winscp_portable) located on my dude server under \\dude\tools So, be putting this line in SSH tool cmd /C (IF NOT EXIST \\dude\tool...
then, still, answer is Yes, but Dude software can't help you in this.
You can run ros_commands (some how) from linux box, and then "transfer" it to snmp oid... This didn't look pretty....
Don't use SNMP type of probe, instead use Function type of probe!
in Available and in "Value" field type
oid("iso.org.dod.internet.mgmt.mib-2.system.sysUpTime.sysUpTimeInstance")
in Error type
""
you can create it as function or as probe :) it doesn't matter if you create function, you will add that function than to probe or you type you "code" wright in to probe fields use standard probes as example and you can run it on any device, because device addresses a statically binded. (M...
yes, you can, but that not work of Dude software. You need to extend ucd-snmp agent, buy adding OID-script equation. You can use examples from snmpd.conf ############################################################################### # Executables/scripts # # # You can also have programs run by the ...
if you want graph of uptime, create new "Probe" with uptime snmp oid("iso.org.dod.internet.mgmt.mib-2.system.sysUpTime.sysUpTimeInstance") if you want "time ticks" on device "Face" on your map, edit map properties, and add to Device->Label [oid("iso.org.d...
never :) Not funny :( If you add list of selected on map devices, which can be passed to custom "tool"(command), it would be enough. Like ip addresses list, separated by spaces, or like variables Device1 Device2 Device3 and so on, with possibility to get parameters([Device3.FirstAddress] ...
you can't query on data source, i think. but you can create 4th probe, witch will be run parallel, query all 3 your router(again), and create new graph, with average or minimum values. something like this min(probe_dev1(),probe_dev2(),probe_dev3()) where probe_dev1 is snmp query(or something) with h...
We do support bugfixes Yes, you do. But you can't afford major changes, like going to external web service(which wanted but one part of dude users, and totally uninterested to other part), with customized/expendable interface by AJAX, or more advanced scripting(with debuging), or create plugin API,...
you may create new notification, which run function or script, which is looking if machine is alive, and if alive, send email, if not - not send.
and assing this new notification to all your services, besides ping.
if you have backup of you old installation, try to install previos version, export you old configuration, install new version, and import config in it.
i have "main" dude server, and two servers, working as agents. one time in several days, all maps and objects, that connected throu those agents are going red(all services down). I'm going to dude server menu, in Agents Tab. Both agents marked fine there. I switch them to disable. Then ena...
i finded that is no problem with my script, this behavior is specific to dude. situation: 1) we create chart, and add 1 line to it 2) we copy chart to buffer 3) we delete chart 4) we paste from buffer and no any line in chart!!!! terrible.. or not? 1) rename chart 2) paste from buffer again miracle!...
I create bash script which must generate 32 graphs from my 32 SNMP maps links. Its output xml code, which i paste in dude. Graphs created well, but without lines in them. When i create that graps in dude, and then export them, the only difference between xml files is IDs. There is scripts, simple ou...
you need to force dude send all you requests and probes over proxy to:
- monitor some internet servers, not accessable directly
or
- monitor your proxy server
or what?
create next Probe: Name: ASA connections Type: Function Agent: default Available: oid("1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.147.1.2.2.2.1.5.40.6") Error: if(oid("1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.147.1.2.2.2.1.5.40.6")>-1,"","THIS IS NOT ASA") Value: oid("1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.147.1.2.2.2.1.5.40.6&q...
-can be tooltip customized by text content and by graphics content? For example - if i want to add some graph on device i will add some variable in Global Parameters (like [graph("some_graph_name")] and here it is. Will be perfect! -may be functions for trigger notifications in script lang...
Look in service list of device. There is "down" filter applied. Change it to "all" and close device tab. Then open again device service list - "down" filter is applied again. :( in 3beta7 filter was saved after closing. it was pretty handful. And saving all colon separa...
have anybody similar ideas to change data sources for graph appeared over link(when pointing cursor on it)? It's pretty cool to add new graphs on devices, just by adding appropriate custom service! But link graphs get only one standard interface OID, and i can't figure out how to change it
i was confused before, because my Dude server was on win2000, and there is some problems.
Like some times hanging client "Copy" and "Paste" buttons. After press "Copy" "Paste" button just remain be gray(not active). It can be cured by restarting client.
I need to create several similar probes(differs only in one oid number). There is a "Copy/Paste" buttons in Probes menu, but they seem doesn't work. Is there a text in some files with Probes descriptions, or any cli commands to automate this process somehow? Usually i wrote script, that ge...
