ROS as VLAN Switch on RB800+RB816 passing pppoe connections

Hi, We have been playing around with the following idea, without 100% success. ADSL-VLAN.png On the main server (x86 ROS v5.2) we created VLANs for each pppoe client that we use to dial out to our ISP over dsl modems, each connected to a ether port on the RB800+RB816. Our current config on the main ...

Re: Proxylizer HowTo

Hi, We installed proxylizer on a x64 platform, everything works, reports get generated but we cannot filter by IP, this means we cannot get a user report. The problem is that the IP to filter will always be 127.255.255.255. The IP is correct in the SQL database. Any suggestions, maybe someone at mik...

Re: Proxylizer x64 build issue

Hi,

Is anyone at Mikrotik going to look into the problem and maybe fix this?

Proxylizer x64 build issue

Hi, from what i have gathered in other posts I'm having issues with proxylizer build on a Ubuntu x64 platform. The IP address int the reports will stay 127.255.255.255. After wiping all traces of proxylizer and reinstalling I still have this issue. I found some info in the forums about a fix that ne...

Graphing - "Yearly" Graph (1 Day Average)" not working?

Hi, We have a x86 based server running ROS 3.14. We are monitoring a couple of queues and all the interfaces. Everything gets logged to graphs as expected, but in all instances the ""Yearly" Graph (1 Day Average)" is empty . Does anyone know about a problem like this with ROS 3.14 or know why and ho...

Re: ovpn can't support lzo compress?

RouterOS OpenVPN does not support LZO and UDP and most likely support for them will not be added in near future. I really think MT should address the problem. We were under the impression ROS can support ovpn. As far as I am concerned, the lzo-comp is a standard used often on linux machines. So the...

Re: ovpn can't support lzo compress?

Anybody have an idea if Mikrotik is working on adding support for lzo-comp and using udp protocol. If so when will it be available? We have a client that needs to connect to a linux server with lzo-comp. We can establish a connection, but if you try and communicate to the server it just replies with...

Re: Exclude VoIP Traffic from UM

We have a similar case,
We need clients to access a server without the usage counting towards their cap. Is it possible to exclude that server IP from the accounting. Any other suggestions on how to get past the issue.

Thanks

Re: routeros disconnect some remote client regularly

We have a similar problem, clients will work fine most of the time. At random times 1 or a few clients will call to say they cant browse/email. We then go into userman, change the IP of the faulty client pppoe, and drop the ppp on the tower they register to. Once the ppp reestablish they are back on...

Re: Active users xx Active Sessions xx not equal

Dosent sound like a UM problem... But maybe. Depends what your using U-M for.... Hi Have anyone see a similar problem before. We need to change 2-3 client's IP addresses in userman and drop their ppp so it will take effect on a daily basis. Our userman is used for accounting and bandwidth managemen...

Re: Active users xx Active Sessions xx not equal

Hi Normis,
We really do need the reworked Usermanager soon. We have had countless problems with the current one. Clients will just stop working, even though they are logged in and everything looks fine. If we then change the IP address they start working again.

Thanks

Hi Normis,
Can you give us a progress report on the new user manager release. When can we expect it?

Re: PPPoE + File Sharing/LAN Games

Hi, we managed to get it working, not as we planned, but working for now. We gave the PPPoE 2MBps (LAN Speed), then we added a queue to the server to specify the internet speed of that IP. We would still like to know how to create a seperate WLAN for gaming and file sharing, and the normal pppoe for...

Re: PPPoE + File Sharing/LAN Games

Will making a queue, dst-address is client's address block bypass the pppoe interface? We got it working, but the the LAN is capped under the pppoe instance. In other words, the speed available to the LAN routing is determined by the pppoe dynamic queue.
