Re: Reading custom MIB snmp value

I'm really amaze by what can be done with The Dude. I have overlooked the product too long before rediscovering it and it's features are endless! The information given by lebowski are really awesome. But for some reason I still cannot read some Oid - either by name or by number. You mentionned the f...

Reading custom MIB snmp value

I was able to "walk" through SNMP values of my RMS-200 board. I even added the MIB provided bt EtherTek and I'm able to read everything I wanted. That is good. I wanted to graph my batteries plugged to the voltmeter 1. Easy, right-click on the proper value in SNMPwalk and select add data source. But...

Re: Backhaul with monotoring and public address

Been redisigned in my lab. But I ended up with less bridge than you. I wonder why... http://danychouinard.net/Diagramme1.jpeg I have bridge the vlan and the physical interface as you adviced. Doing so I have access to my internal network (the 10.159.248/29) and the equipement plugged as the customer...

Backhaul with monotoring and public address

I'm installing a backhaul link. Of course I installed 2 mikrotik router with two Ubiquiti Rocket. That was easy. I needed to monitor the link, so I configured a public IP address and a dude agent. Sweet. But when the customer requested a public IP adress, everything went wrong. I had to move quickly...

New ISP setup

Hello everyone I'm putting in place an rural WISP setup with mikrotik and ubiquiti antenna. Actually, we are already covering a pretty large area and thing are running quit fine. But we have no control on what's going on the network. This week we had a fiber line put in place and a range of public I...

Relay Agent Information Option

I was wondering if the the dhcp-relay directive of mikrotik actually populate the option 82 before sending the request to the DHCP-SERVER? from the forum I know that the option 82 can be taken into account with the DHCP-SERVER/RADIUS but I could not confirm that it could be filled in be the the mikr...

Re: How many clients can be connected to one AP G mode

I tought that WPS was used to link AP with a wireless link? I currently use cat5 cable with PoE to keep the wireless spectrum as clean as possible for students laptops. Every APs talks to a radius server for WPA authentication, is that the kind of link between APs you're talking about? I do feel tha...

Re: How many clients can be connected to one AP G mode

Interesting topic here. I have 20+ laptops with domain logon over wireless link in a school. I have to admin that things are really slow. Takes forever to students if any more than 10 laptop are booted within an area. I tried to implement queues to allow smoother operation but I'm still not satisfie...

Re: Is a tunnel's tunneling

It does work. Very easy to put in place. Not a clean solution however...

Should I consider another type of tunnel? Looks like eoip lacks some features.

Is a tunnel's tunneling

I need to ensure that an eoip tunnel is up and running. But I failed to find a way to detemine his state. How could that be done?

is an EoIP tunnel's running?

I have a problem with EoIP tunnels. For some reason, tunnels justs falls apart after some time. I'm yet to find a way to determine if the tunnel is running or not. My NAS (an 433AH) is connected to 8 AP's trought EoIP. I'm rebooting the NAS once a week to bring the tunnels back. I think I should get...

Re: VLAN Assignation per user using RADIUS

I have found a good description of what I'm trying to accomplish. But I am yet to figure how to do it with routerOS.

VLAN Assignation per user using RADIUS

Greeting everyone. I do WPA authentication using a RADIUS server (freeradius on a zeroshell server). On the server I can specify a the client assigned VLAN (802.1x). I need my AP to assign dynamicly the vlan to the wireless client. This will allow differents clients to be on differents networks. TRU...
