Re: 12 months +

The other thing about DC-DC converters is the 20-25% loss in power. Thus, you'll have to spec for additional wattage on your solar panels...

Thus, if I'm running a 12V system and feeding my RB's directly from the batteries, why would I need a DC-DC converter?

Am I missing something here... is it no all about watts? Thus, even if you run a 12V system, the amps pulled by the board will be higher, thus all is suppose to be fine?

Re: Base station problem. Please help...

I have already tried the scan list suggestion. As mentioned, most of the times the CPE does not pick up the directed sector's frequency. Thus, in the example image above, it normally only shows 00:15:6D:65:3F:89 (AP1) and 00:15:6D:65:92:DF (AP3)... Sometimes, it will show AP2... the CPE will connect...

Re: Base station problem. Please help...

As mentioned above, I have already tried different SSID's for each sector... 50% (4 clients) of the CPE's refuses to connect to the directed sectors (sectors with the best signal).

Why not use capital letters in the SSID?

No luck.

I've tried using the 'Access List' to also try and force a CPE to connect to a specific sector (more or less same idea as with the unique SSID). The CPE refuses to connect... 90% of the time only wants to connect to the non-directed sectors?!

Also tried WDS... no luck.

I'm tempted to do this setup with a RB600 and a daughterboard. More than enough space for the cards, but will the power supply be adequat...

Re: CPE PPPoE Client Setup Problem!!!!!

Thanks for the reply!
Make sure the Service Name matches on the PPPoE server and the client.
Does match
Also, go to system->logging and add logging for pppoe, it should shed more light on the problem.
ppp and pppoe are added...

Re: PPPoE Client Setup?

I've switched the 'Dial on Demand' option off. That was causing the 'waiting for packets' status. Now, I only get statuses of 'dialing...', 'disconnected'.

I can do dialups through windows without problems?

Would appreciate any suggestions.

Re: User Manager Questions

Thanks for the reply.

Where in the web interface do I reset the counters?

Are there any other way I can get more storage space on the RB433AH? If not, whats the other options? To run user manager on a separate machine on the network? How do I setup user manager on a windows machine?

Thx

Hi I'm testing PPPoE dialups from Windows. If the dialup connection is idle for a certain period of time, the interface dissapears under RouterOS, PPP/Interfaces? Thus, RouterOS disconnects the interface. On Windows, the connection still shows active but with no activity? I've played around with the...

User Manager Questions

Hi there I have a few questions on UM: 1. How do you reset the total upload/download figures for a user. I've deleted the user sessions, but this does not help? I have users with for example a xGB limit/month. After the month I need to reset these counters. 2. Are there a way to automatically reset ...
