Re: Troubleshooting performance issues

FYI: I cleared configuration and addad a minimal configuration, but that didn´t help. I then connected the Internet cable to another ethernet port and problem was gone! I guess that tells me that there is a hardware problem with one of the ethernet ports on the router... Thank you for your help! Johan

Re: Troubleshooting performance issues

What process is taking up 30% of CPU? Seems high. Don´t know what´s normal, does the attachment say you anything? Check the interface stats for CRC errors and dropped packets. Tools > Packet Sniffer, look for tcp retransmissions. No errors on the interface (LAN and Internet). I have a couple of que...

Re: mAP 2n USB power reset

Does the modem respond to AT commands when you want to reset it? Don´t know that. This problem have never occured when I have the equipment in the office. When put in the field the 3G connection is my only option to remote control. I use a watchdog to reboot the system after 5 minuter without Inter...

Re: mAP 2n USB power reset

I can see that someone have changed the WIKI today. I am almost 100% sure that this pdf contained information about USB power reset a few weeks ago, you must have changed it? http://i.mt.lv/routerboard/files/mAP-140908144858.pdf I guess I am screwed, no way to do a power reset of my USB 3G modem? mAP 2n USB power reset

I just got a couple of mAP 2n units delivered an I started to configure them immediately. According to this WIKI (http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:USB_Features) it should have USB power reset capabilities. I use this command: /system routerboard usb power-reset duration=5s Result in this output:...

Re: ALIX board + CF card + RouterOS

I usually connect the CF-card to a regular PC, download the ISO-image, burn to cd, boot from the cd, install on CF-card and finally move the card to my ALIX.

Re: Huawei E169

I think everything works ok now. Have been in contact with support and they fixed the problem in 3.22. Still have one problem. If my ppp-client is enabled when the systems reboots it never manage to connect. But if it is disabled during reboot and enabled after that it works. So I wrote this script ...

Re: Huawei E169

Some more testing done... Tested on a regular PC (pretty old, 450MHz Pentium) and got the same problem, so I guess it´s not power-related? Changed the initialization-string to ATZ. It seems to work when locked to GPRS (changed settings from Windows). With autoselect or 3G only I only get the "modem ...

My problem is solved by downgrade from 3.20 to 3.17 (exactly the same config).

Re: Huawei E169

I also got problems... The same config, with same SIM-card, works with E220. The E169 works under Windows, so it isn´t any problem with the hardware. I use ROS 3.20 on PC Engines ALIX 6b2. This is my config (haven´t configured anything else in my router): [admin@MikroTik] /interface ppp-client> prin...

Huawei E169

Anyone got the Huawei E169 3G modem working with ROS? I got a couple of Huawei E220 that works perfect, but my network-provider now deliver E169 instead of E220. I don´t want to by one if it doesn´t work.

Re: Problem with VLAN on bridged interface

Perhaps you could create a second vlan that is bridged with the wireless instead of bridging to the untagged ethernet port.
Yes, that is what I did. I just think that this behavior is not what you expect.

Problem with VLAN on bridged interface

I have some problems with bridge-interface and VLAN. This is my setup: ROS 3.20 (also tries 3.13) on RB433AH. I have one ehternet-interface, ether1, handling untagged traffic. I also have one VLAN-interface, vlan1, handling tagged traffic on the physical ether1-interface. This works fine, no problem...

What version of RouterOS did you use? I cannot get USB working on ANY Alix boards

/Henrik
I run the same setup (ALIX 2C3 + E220) with 3.10 and 3.11, works great! Got a couple of 6b2 that I will test the next days.
