Re: IPv6 TODO

Hi there,

Normis can you confirm that you will be implementing http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc6204 as a typical IPv6 CE Router?

Re: IPv4 to IPv6 proxy

It's against IPv6 transition plan (you know.. forget ipv4 and move to ipv6) so I don't think it will ever get to life.

Re: IPv6 stateless autoconfiguration, can ROS get autoconfed

Note: Due to restrictions of IPv6, address auto-configuration can not be performed on routers. Routers require manual address configuration. What restrictions? Do you have a roadmap for autoconfig on routers? In normal situations a client router (750 for example) should receive RAs from ISP via PPP...

Re: Traverse Viking ADSL2+ PCI Modem Card

Any news on the adsl2+ (annex-m maybe)?

The links don't work and I would like to test the viking or any other card if they still exist.

Re: RB800 + Big Outdoor Case(CA/OTU) + 4xUbnt XR5 = temp iss

I am not sure if it's a temperature problem but I also have big trouble with by rb800. It hangs completely after 11 in the morning, if I reset the power I loose all wifi cards and only ethernet ports are functioning. In resources I see all r52n and cm9 (uknown device for r52n and AR5212 802.11abg fo...

Re: MPLS/VPLS

No this is normal. your ISP is using MPLS on it's network. Since RC13's traceroute is MPLS aware then It displays the info received.

and.. definately not a security issue anywhere..

RC13 Multicast

Has anyone installed multicast on RC13? I have this wierd issue. When I install multicast in RC13 I loose all routes on the system (RB532). Blank page on ip->routes. Not even the directed connected routes. When I disable or uninstall it the routes reapear so is the normal operation. With mcast insta...

Hey did you notice that bgp now crashes very often if you have >1 bgp peers? Serriously now can you check it out? Also once again thank you for not telling us about the new features. Network, Aggregate and Advertisements commands. (What is the 3rd one actually do? Is it something similar to a route-...

Hi, Just to understand the situation, do you want to advertise your /20 or your /20 and the rest of your highier prefixes from your OSPF Network? One hint for the routing-test setup is. Make sure that you see an ACTIVE route (the one you created with your null interface.) in the "ip route" list this...

250packets * 8bytes(without any overhead) *~1500 MTU / sec = 3.000.000bps = 3Mbps

for reliable 64K I would say you need something between 5-7 PPS in each direction per client so do the calc.. :)

propogating with unknown listed for the interface. You have to ensure next-hop reachability first. You can do this either with an IGP such as ospf or via static routes. In other words you have to be able to "ping" the ip of the bgp neighbor before you can pass traffic to him. You don't need the rou...

Yup routing-test is so messed-up... I see idle-established and then idle again..

I'll forget about routing-test for the moment and go for the stable routing until somebody else has a clue..

:(

Worst than ever..

but at first glance I unplugged the ethernet to the peer and 10 minutes later its still thinking its connected... Confirmed. Same in all kinds of Interfaces. Wireless and Ethernet. bgp thinks session is up and established. Routes don't get to be used though since next-hop is unreachable. At least s...

The issue is open for the vendors to decide. Cisco although has "network x.y.z.v/n" command in bgp, the network is not propagated until it exists in the routing table. The solution is actually the same.. You just have to add a null route (ip route 10.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 null0 for instance if you wan...

In order to do that you need an ATM interface! or a pseudo ATM Interface..(driver) I assume for the ATM interface we'd need something like the Sangoma S518 card. Are there drivers for this card? BGP Routes from Unreachable nexthop

First of all I am happy I see multiple bgp instances + same routes/prefixes from different links. I am facing a problem though since 2.9rc?? and I now see that this is also a case for routing-test package. So the problem is this. I have 2 ebgp neighbors and 1 multi-hop ebgp. I see routes from the 2 ...
