Re: RB751U-2HnD wireless very, very slow

changing Tx-power mode to card rates and Tx power was at default of 17 allowed my lenovo t430s to connect at 130 mbps and my speed test went from 3 megabit/s to 25mbit/s which is the limit of my internet connection. Also before i only had tkip enabled, so i also checked off aes ccm, and i also chang...

Re: 751U 2HnD all LED flashing in unison including power PWR

ronwk, my unit which was doing randomly started working less than 24 hours later. Mikrotik support advised me the unit was defective and to return it to the distributor I purchased it from. The distributor and I haven't sorted out exactly what to do yet. I certainly can't trust the unit in a deploym...

751U 2HnD all LED flashing in unison including power PWR

I have a routerboard 751U 2HnD that has been out of the box for less than 24 hours. All of the LEDs are flashing on and off in unison, including the PWR and ACT lights. I was using it when the SSID disappeared, and now I can't get any response from it at all by wireless or by LAN. the power supply v...

Re: v3.27 bug: ssh port forwarding is not working

v4.8 - and it's still not there, sigh...
new features go into v5 beta, don't expect it in v4.
except it isn't a new feature, it is a regression that is fixed as the feature existed in version prior to 3.27.

WHO said OpenVPN is going to be removed? I didn't, MikroTik didn't.

Re: Response from support

mikrotik customers are crying out "please give us a full implementation of OpenVPN" and instead mikrotik may remove support entirely? seems backwards. Why go to all the trouble of making your own implementation which is not as good or complete as the open source one? Inevitably, the answer...

Re: IPSec for dynamic IPs (client) with and without NAT-T

You've got the peers on both ends of the IPSEC tunnel set to generate policy? How does it know which subnets are on the other side of the tunnel, as this is usually specified in the policy.

thanks

Re: IPSec for dynamic IPs (client) with and without NAT-T

Can you post your configs that got IPSec with dynamic IP? I've been unable to achieve this. Then I will start to also work on the case where it is behind NAT firewall (perhaps this is why my IPSec with dynamic IP isn't working right now..)

Re: Connecting 2 MK's using IPsec, 1 side with dynamic IP

Did you figure this out? It seems it is not possible to do IPSec on mikrotik routeros with dynamic IP without using hacky scripts like here http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=3922 from 2005. The ipsec tunnel works if I specify the dynamic IP address of the remote peer in the local pee...

Fix for the problem will be included in version 4.4. Thank you very much for your reports.
If anyone will have the problem with ISAKMP header, please let us know.
Will this problem be fixed for version 3.30 as well?

Re: BIG BUG- Unicast key exchange timeout

I've found that using dynamic-mesh for WDS with WPA encryption does 'work', but isn't useable: the links frequently reset with messages like "no beacons received" or "class 2 frame received (6)" even when there are no clients around to connect to the APs. I've Changed some radios...

Re: Piont to Point on WDS and Nstreme

http://www.mikrotik.com/testdocs/ros/3.0/interface/wireless.php Most of us use dynamic WDS. It is easier than static. Hi Tom, I'm using WDS for a low throughput network so techs can roll up to any radio and connect to the network whereas if I had some radios on the PtP links as stations the techs c...

so many times this has been discussed .... how many times would the router resolve each of your domain names? what happens if the DNS binding changes, and the IP is different? how much service time will you lose? so how often should the router resolve these names? and what happens if you have 4000 ...

You only change the frequency from 5620 to 5660 and that makes enough difference to solve your ducting/over water wierdness issues?

Re: BIG BUG- Unicast key exchange timeout

WDS and WPA is working between two mikrotik routers. First make sure that you have specified the correct security profile in the connect-list if you are using it. Second, we recommend to use wds-mode=dynamic-mesh or static-mesh as it has better link establishemnt for WDS and with that WAP will work...

Re: Problems on WDS 'mesh' - static vs Dynamic WDS

1. As the last poster said to be broardcasting a single SSID is WDS the only option? 2. And if WDS is deployed is the static mac address system the best solution available with Mikrotik today. 1. no. you can use "WDS IGNORE SSID" checkbox for wds modes static and dynamic with no encryptio...

does this mean UDP can't be tunneled over openVPN or that openVPN tunnels can carry both TCP and UDP traffic but that openVPN can only use TCP as the transport and not UDP?

Re: ovpn can't support lzo compress?

added my vote for complete openvpn server support on the wiki. I wouldn't have thought it would be all that difficult seeing how it is all open source but as I can see from the request list there is a lot of work for mikrotik programmers to do. When people say UDP isn't supported, do they mean openV...

I have never been able to get WDS aka ap-bridge mode and WPA (psk) to work on routeros 3.x.
