Re: Mikrotik HWMP+ Ethernet not joining into mesh

That's a possible solution, but wouldn't MSTP/RSTP etc. just block all traffic on the lower priority ethernet connected devices, forcing data to go over wireless even though ethernet was physically available?

No progress on my setup being able to mesh over ethernet nic unless set to WDS, which breaks ability to ingress/egress IP traffic.

Have you had any luck?

Re: Mikrotik HWMP+ Ethernet not joining into mesh

So one thing to add, I tried to do WDS on a VLAN assigned to ethernet port, with the idea of WDS Mesh over a vlan, and use the ethernet native port as ingress/egress. The WDS does work over vlan, however when you add the ethernet interface to the mesh (as an ethernet type) the vlan WDS drops. This m...

It seems that two MikroTik made 4G modems will work fine, but with other manufacturers, it is possible that not all of them will work. We will see how to clarify that in the documentation, or maybe make a list of known and tested 3rd party modules that work fine. For now, until we are certain, I su...

is there a reason for needing the testing server to be publicly accessible? if not, then simply keep it on your LAN only

if they must both be publicly accessible, then a simple way to do it is to assign your public to you MT, and nat (by dns name) to the private of the appropriate box

that would work, but if you are working with cpe, realize that by bridging ether 1 to the tunnel means that if the customer hooks a switch to your device, anything they connect will draw from the dhcp-server.

couple of ways to do this - either break up your /24 and route a portion to each AP and do it all static -or- set up EoIP tunnels to each AP from your edge router, set up a dhcp-server handing out your publics, and then assign dhcp-client to wlan1. this will give a public to anyone who has a dhcp-cl...
