Janis have explained it well on the USA MUM and we have a PDF from that: http://mum.mikrotik.com/presentations/US08/janism.pdf but the PDF is not enough. How about uploading the whole video/audio or all hos words in another PDF file ? Since this PDF file is cut at the interesting part :) the priorit...
icmp gets priority because all other traffic already has queues. traffic that does not have queues gets priority. This is mentioned in the manual. p.s. I want to see example with inner leaf (subqueue in the Queue Tree)
Thanks for the PDF link. Most enlightened specialists here seem to prefer keeping their secrets to themselves, not sharing proper configs, leaving many ISPs running MT crippled worldwide. It's actually funny  Try yourself and post your progress, but remember to export and paste /ip firewall man...
I was find that in simple queues total-bytes value is caculated by upload of host no like total upload+download If target-address means src-address, yes, its for "upload". Maybe one more simple queue with dst-address for "download" ? Better yet - Queue tree. my queue: target-add...
Setup multiple tunnels over the Ethernet interface connecting the two - one for each client, if clients are not too much, will have overhead of traffic and cpu usage and harder config. Or VLAN tagging?
If my queue is pcq type, as the equal-sharing example, the priority will not work and all will get same priority (round robin) ? Must I switch to sfq for priority to work?
No need to stop p2p. Queues can and should ensure priority to icmp, dns, http(s), Skype, games... A Queue on your Public interface is meant for upload. You control which packets leave the router in what order, and which are dropped, therefore limiting the speed due to 'TCP window' . Data received i...
Could you please paste your Proxy config and tell a bit about it. It seems to really be saving you bandwidth. Where did you come up with what and how to "proxy"? I'm very curious for that config.
He will simply lose clients that way. Internet is free information exchange. There is no filtering and never will be fully possible. Solution is to simply aim to make web sites open FAST no matter what client is downloading and with how many connections. Like Normis and Chupaka have said: Simply mar...
This topic is very important. Thanks for starting it. What rules do we need to put into MirkoTik for it to distinguish new connections, mark their packets, and prioritize them, as opposed to already existing connections? Give us an example configuration of a MikroTik router with NAT and two-three cl...
