Re: CCR1036-12G-4S and Winbox MAC Access

Next I did reset configuration and I can now connect to default IP
I misread your post as I had the same problem when I got rid of the default config, no longer an IP no MAC access and my fix was as per my response.

Good luck getting help in the future with your attitude...

Re: CCR1036-12G-4S and Winbox MAC Access

Try disable the firewall in windows.

I have that to and with disable firewall con i connect
Cannot be that as MAC access to other HW platforms is fine with the same client.

Have the same problem using Windows 8.1 connecting to 1016 and 1036 (v6.10) - everything works as expected just MAC winbox has port 20561 timed out error.

DSCP QOS with HTB and PCQ?

Hi all, up to now I have been running only a PCQ queue tree for each subnet to allow equal bandwidth sharing. I am looking to implement QOS and looking at this wiki entry http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/DSCP_based_QoS_with_HTB it would be what I need but I would lose the PCQ element... Anyone have any...

Policy routing for unauthenticated SMTP - help needed.

At various events where we use Mikrotik the end user is removed from his home network therefore their configured SMTP relay no longer accepts the connection. This is not the case for authenticated SMTP as this will be accepted by the 'home' ISPs from foreign subnets. Normally if you are using a sing...

Re: NEED HELP WITH VPN AND IPSEC SETUP

If you are running dynamic IPs, IPSec is pretty useless in MT.

Static works like a champ and is really easy. What are you trying to do?
Greg has updated his already excellent guide to include dynamic addressing, I have been using this fine over a dynamic IP aDSL line.

Thanks Greg!

Re: VRRP backup interface not standing down v4.3 on RB1000

Got this working with help from support and wanted to post the solution in case anyone comes across this thread. The hotspot needs to be attached to the VRRP interface, not the ether, then it works fine. The hotspot will show as invalid but as soon as VRRP becomes master then it will work correctly....

Re: Hotspot UDP per user throttle

Ah OK, obviously my PCQ knowledge needed refreshing... So correct me if I'm wrong... Mangle to mark all UDP connection / packets create PCQ queue for down and up, limit to x Kb/s add queue tree and attach to relevant interfaces job done. If I already have a PCQ queue in place that does not rate limi...

Re: Hotspot UDP per user throttle

But I only want to throttle UDP per user and leave the rest unlimited. Overall UDP throttling is not a problem, its the per user piece I'm stuck with.
How can I limit each user to max xMb/s UDP?

Thanks, sterb.

Max concurrent VPN tunnels possible?

Has anyone run installations of a NAT'ed Hotspot with multiple client VPN connections out to the internet? By multiple I mean 100s of varying variety, PPTP, OpenVPN etc.?

Is there anything I need to allow for especially or are the existing helpers sufficient?

Thanks, sterb.

Hotspot UDP per user throttle

I have been asked to implement a UDP throttle on a per user basis. Users will come in either via trial or usermanager auth but should be limited to a max UDP bandwidth (prohibit video streaming out). It is obvious how to do it for the interface just wondering if anyone has implemented it on a per us...

VRRP pinhole through hotspot

Hi all, so I have a working vrrp config on my master and backup router. what I now want to do is enable hotspot on both the master and backup interface of the routers. As soon as I do this vrrp seems to be blocked by the hotspot firewall rules. Anyone come across a way to pinhole through? I have rea...

Re: VRRP backup interface not standing down v4.3 on RB1000

Leonset, finally had some time to spend on this and you pointed me in the right direction! Once I reformulated my NAT rule it all worked so thanks again! last hurdle I have left now is once I turn the hotspot on the ether interface vrrp is running on the vrrp packets are blocked so the secondary goe...

Outdoor / industrial aDSL modem / bridge

Hi,

we are doing a large deployment and will have several locations linking back over aDSL. What I am looking for is a aDSL modem AnnexA to PPPoE bridge to Mikrotik that has a temp range of -20C, anyone come across such a product?

Thanks in advance, sterb.

Re: VRRP backup interface not standing down v4.3 on RB1000

I already submitted this to support and so far only got the standard responses back, i.e. explaining the config some more. It was not confirmed if this is a bug or not. I also had debug turned on to see if the multicast packets are not received for some reason but there were no obvious error message...

VRRP backup interface not standing down v4.3 on RB1000

Hi all, needs some help here: I have two RB1000s, one will act as the primary for all subnets, the other as the backup. This will be handled using VRRP. The configuration is as follows: Primary RB1000: VRRPs: 0 RM name="vrrp1" mtu=1500 mac-address=00:00:5E:00:01:01 arp=enabled interface=ether1 vrid=...

My board sees the 4Gb microSD card fine, can format no issues and move stores for dude, usermanager and proxy across. @jherrick I only have one IP way out unfortunately... the way you explain it would mean thought that this problem should also happen through a basic NAT, i.e. basic Netgear router? @changeip In this case there was a load balancer upstream but I see the same problem when the ISP facing interface has ...

How can I bind users to specific hotspot interface?

Hi,

I am running two hotspot interfaces (different subnets with different rate limitations) on a RB1000 and I want to use a single user manager (same box, localhost) for authentication. Is it possible to create a user and only allow it to login on a certain interface?

Thanks in advance, Stefan.
