Re: Dude-Syslog - Email Notifications not working as expected

That line IS the syslog message... <86> refers to the syslog priority the message came in with (both 6 & 8). [10341] is the processID of the sshd process on the server that sent the syslog message. I may be wrong, but I don't think The Dude can do exactly what you want without some additional help. ...

Dude, where'd my network go?!

Over the past several weeks, I've had a problem on my network. A wireless link connects a site that holds my Dude server to a central site. Looks about like this: Dude--Cisco3550--bridge1--bridge2--Cisco1841--Mikrotik493AH FW-->RouterOS/PC BGP GW As I've turned up more monitoring... SNMP for most de...

dude-3.1 under wine-1.1.5 = LocalMedium: postpone read

I tried to install Dude-3.1 under wine-1.1.5. It installs ok, but when I run it (selecting the language), I get a continuous scrolling message "LocalMedium: postpone read". Anyone know what this means? Is it a wine error or a Dude error? Dude-3.0 ran without any such problem. I am working on updatin...

Re: Transfer piece map to other map ...

Not sure if copy/paste is the real culprit, but I've found that when I copy devices from one map to another, data starts getting corrupted. It seems that when duplicate devices exist, data (?randomly?) gets dropped from Syslog rules, charts, possibly other places, too... When I eliminate duplicated ...

Re: Syslog Sorting

I (knock on wood) have not experienced a problem with syslog rules getting killed... I've had some problem with Charts losing their rules and not being able to add them back in.... still working on that problem. There's a could quirks about the panels I don't like... for instance, you cannot click t...

Re: Wireless vlan help!

Simply having a trunk with multiple VLANs will not allow you to have multiple SSIDs... Although I haven't used them, I ran across some info about "Virtual APs" in some Mikrotik documentation or change logs. I'm sure that is exactly what your looking for. I think Virtual APs are only available in the...

Re: Show us your map

FYI, I see that [Interface.InBitRate] alot when I set the mastering type on the link to routeros. If I stick with SNMP, I don't have seem to have that problem much.

Re: Anyone know how to monitor bandwidth (%) on a cisco router?

you need to set up SNMP on the Cisco router... here's an example: snmp-server community SOMESPECIALSECRETPASSWORD RO 80 access-list 80 permit 10.10.10.10 Having the snmp-server reference access-list 80 will permit only those hosts permitted in access-list 80 to perform SNMP queries. Access-list 80 s...

Chart elements disappear, cannot be re-added

I'm experiencing a problem with charts an rx/tx data. If I create a chart with two elements, say ether1 @ routera rx and ether1 @ routera tx, the chart gets create perfectly. At some time in the future (maybe just a few minutes, maybe a few hours), the second element goes missing. When I go back to ...

Re: Syslog Sorting

You can get around this problem by using panels. The panels are a little buggy, but you can create custom views mixing charts, maps, logs... anything! You can lock the Panel so that you cannot inadvertently change anything (which is easy to do). Double click Panels, then add a new panel... we'll cal...
