Re: config on a 450G

they just installed it with a modem and a cisco 851 router.

will probably need someone like Butch or Dennis Burgess to do it

I tried going from router to Mikrotik just to try switching from dsl to cable
but could not get that working even though I got instructions on dsl reports :(

config on a 450G

Hi

Up to now I have been using two dsl mlpp lines on my 450G (ether 1 and 2) It gives me 7 down 1 up

The 450 is the dhcp server

I just ordered a cable line its 10 down 1 up.

Is load balancing my best choice in this case. All 70 subs are served out of ether 5 (it goes to my backhaul)

thanks

Re: Hotspot implementation with 2 APs - total beginner

might sound simple but you are asking a lot
an hour with a consultant could do wonders

or split up your questions.
you can control how much speed goes to clients with simple queues
and look at user manager: it can do a lot more

I think Butch's script catches Limewire from the number of open connections.

should be easy for someone to recommend something like that or go to http://www.butchevans.com
I'll take that back: just tested it and it does not pick up Limewire but it does pick up Vuze right away.
