Re: v6.44 [stable] is released!

Update from 6.40.8 to 6.44 seems to remove "system note" content.

Resolve: My mistake, I was removing all file, just to make space and be sure, that nothing is left in there. And I've removed the sys-note file.

Re: ARP Timeout

Nobody is arguing that this should be the normal behaviour of a router: - Try to connect with IP of an unexisting device - ARP should be populated with 00s mac - Connect a device with this IP address - on the first packet the Mikrotik hears a packet with src mac the mac (for this example: 11:11:11:1...

Re: ARP Timeout

Our problem was a little different, we had the wrong MAC, not only 00s. So to my understanding (without actual test with wireshark) - the Client was sending packet to the Gateway, but the Gateway send back answer with the wrong MAC. The proper behavior should be to send back packet with dst mac, the...

We had similar problem today. RB3011 with 6.39.1. A Laptop connects to APs, and get 172.16.1.19 or 172.16.1.20 from the DHCP server. The client had arping to 172.16.0.1, but didn't have ping, and the Mikrotik had also arping to the client with no ping (firewalls were down). At that moment I saw that...

Re: v6.39.2 [current]

I have a question with respect the release numbering:

Why 6.37.x is Bugfix and 6.39.x is current.
Where are the 6.38.x releases? I think all the 6.38.x must be Bugfix if my logic is right.

Try frist 2.1 and after that 3.0b1.

Just guessing: maybe you don't have enough power and the wi-fi (nstream is very cpu intensive and it rise the power consumation little) card drops try with lower power consuming card.
And the other guess is that RB isn't stable at such high rate of clock. Downclock it for test !

Easiest way wds-bridge everything from A to C. And let cisco do the Vlan stuff.

Hardest (I haven't test something like this). Make vlans on MT slaves of the Wi-fi cards and put 3 IPs per Interface (1 for every vlan) :).

And I had to resolder it :). But I didn't understand why it doesn't work, until I found the answer in documentation :).

Bizarrely, we found 2x24Mbps works better than 54Mbps (non-turbo) on a given link conditions. That's because with Turbo on lower speed you're using a more robust modulation (16QAM instead of 64QAM) and spreading out your data over 40MHz instead of 20MHz. You have twice the subcarriers and less comp...
