skipped SNMP ethernet index

Hi, I'm using RB 493 as a switch and I'm using fw 4.17. I'm using SNMP get gather statistics informations from this device and got this: IF-MIB::ifNumber.0 = INTEGER: 10 IF-MIB::ifIndex.1 = INTEGER: 1 IF-MIB::ifIndex.3 = INTEGER: 3 IF-MIB::ifIndex.4 = INTEGER: 4 IF-MIB::ifIndex.5 = INTEGER: 5 IF-MIB...

Re: wlan card load & SNMP

So is there any possibility how to somehow recognize, that 60 clients for example are too much for one wlan card? CPU load says nothing usable about that.

Re: wlan card load & SNMP

/interface wireless registration-table print oid gives values available on wireless Access Point for SNMP monitor. Thank you - yes, I forget to write, that I'm looking for Access Point statistics. But this will print per-client OIDs (signals, rates, ...), but I'm looking for overall wlan card stati...

wlan card load & SNMP

I already can read the load of the mikrotik cpu by SNMP using oid = .1.3.6.1.2.1.25.3.3.1.2.1. How can I read the load of the wlan card? - of course - if possible. I think there must be some times (too many clients for example?), when the wlan card performance can be a bottleneck.

Re: cannot see output when installing

Now I've got it - I can run Mikrotik ROS in the kvm/qemu under command line only - not over VNC remotely. That was my aim. Works great!

The problem was in the ISO image packing with mkisofs. Works with "console=ttyS0" option on the kernel's parameter line.

modifying the installation iso image

I've downloaded the ISO image for x86, fw version 4.3. I want two things: 1) change the kernel bootup parameters to force the ROS to output everything to /dev/ttyS0 (first serial port) - it seems, that it outputs somewhere else 2) create back the modified ISO image to allow the installation with thi...

Re: cannot see output when installing

Yes, I know, that I wrote "-x console=ttyS0" to the Fedora12, but how can I change the boot parameters for Mikrotik ROS? I've tried to download and mount the ISO image from Download section on mikrotik.com. I copied the files and changed the file ./isolinux/isolinux.cfg to default system label syste...

cannot see output when installing

I'm trying to install ROS 4.3 under qemu in redhat enterprise 5.4. I'm logged in as root and these are my steps: virt-install --connect qemu:///system -n mikrotik43 -f ~/mikrotik43.qcow2 -s 30 -r 70 --noautoconsole --os-type other --os-variant generic --accelerate --network=bridge:br0 --hvm --cdrom=...

Re: API /interface/wireless/print oid

"interface wireless print" and "interface wireless print oid" print the results as expected in 3.21, 3.22, 3.23 and 3.24.
The problem is when you type these commands as API commands - they both print the same output in 3.22+, that bad. In 3.21 this works - the output is quite different.

Re: API /interface/wireless/print oid

According to ChangeLog, something should be changed, but nothing has changed according to me. Now I have also differences between 3.10 and 3.22-3.23: fw 3.23: [admin@myname] > interface wireless print Flags: X - disabled, R - running 0 R name="myname" mtu=1500 mac-address=xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx arp=enabl...

API /interface/wireless/print oid

I have tried to run the mtapi.py script from wiki . I'm trying now to run the command to print OIDs ... >>> /interface/wireless/print =oid= ... This works fine on pre 3.22 firmwares and does not work in fw 3.22. In 3.22 this prints only the same output like when the command is only "/interface/wirel...

Re: unable to create virt-ap w/o "master-interface=(unknown)"

We upgrade also to RB411 or mostly to RB433.

If I downgrade to 2.9.x I will not have an option to use API - the command "/ip service enable api" will be unavailable! I need API for my perl script I use for reading ssid and frequency from the radios.

Re: unable to create virt-ap w/o "master-interface=(unknown)"

I have heard, but not tried, that the V3.X OS does not work well on the RB1XX series routers. This is the key!!! I have tried the RB433 and fw 3.10 and everything worked as expected. Then I tried to upgrade from 3.10 to 3.19 on that radio and everything works also. Many thanks for help! edit: do yo...

Re: unable to create virt-ap w/o "master-interface=(unknown)"

We have boards with 3.14, but these are not RB133. We can't use RB133 anymore because of lower performace so I have some here on my table for testing my software only.

Re: unable to create virt-ap w/o "master-interface=(unknown)"

We tried to remove/add virtual AP's many times before without success, that's why I'm here :) The routerboard is here beside me on my working table, so it doesn't matter what freq I'm using. And you are right - here in CZ we also cannot use this frequency. This board I have only for testing purposes...

It doesn't work either...
[admin@MikroTik] /interface wireless> /interface wireless set wlan2 master-interface=wlan1 mac-address=02:05:4E:41:BC:83
input does not match any value of master-interface

And I don't understand, why this is not properly set by Winbox!

I tried this already. I don't understand, why this association is not done automatically by Winbox. unable to create virt-ap w/o "master-interface=(unknown)"

I have RB133 with fw 3.19 here on my table. I'm trying to add virtual iface via Winbox named wlan2. Trying wireless/interface/add/virtualAP. I'm creating this from wlan1 - normal wlan card inserted in the board. The virtual AP is successfully created, but when I login via telnet to the board and pri...
