Re: RB1009 to RB1009 Gigabit link results in Btest Dropping to 40 Mbit

nadeu, thanks for taking the time to run some tests to verify my results. I'm not sure how I didn't see your post before I posted my last findings. Sorry for overlooking your reply. You didn't exactly specify in your results, but I'm assuming that when you ran your TX test that got 44.4 Mbps (99% of...

Re: RB1009 to RB1009 Gigabit link results in Btest Dropping to 40 Mbit

Well I tested with an RB1200 and Btest didn't glitch out like it does on the CCR1009, but that is probably because the RB1200 couldn't send or receive more than 250 Mbit without maxing out its CPU. Here are the results: Btest on a RB1200 connecting to a CCR1009 -Send test: ~250 Mbit throughput, RB12...

Re: RB1009 to RB1009 Gigabit link results in Btest Dropping to 40 Mbit

Any chance on getting some verification that this Btest glitch is being caused by a software bug or issue with the CCR1009? My only guess at this point is that the code for Btest was written before gigabit Ethernet was invented and the software just isn't capable of generating over 400 Mbit of traff...

Re: RB1009 to RB1009 Gigabit link results in Btest Dropping to 40 Mbit

Ok guys, I think I made some progress in testing this out and have potentially found the problem. However, first let me start off by asking a question about the new Traffic Generator tool. Is this something that only tests via UDP connections? Tonight was the first time I had used it, so I am quite ...

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'll try the new Traffic Generator. I'm glad to see there is a next generation tool like that built into ROS. Thanks for putting it in v6. That's awesome! However, what still puzzles me is the fact that I am getting such low Btest speeds when I can do a similar test ...

RB1009 to RB1009 Gigabit link results in Btest Dropping to 40 Mbit

So I was testing my RB1009-8G-1S-1S+ and RB1009-8G-1S-1S+PC tonight and added IP addresses to both eth1 interfaces, plugged in Gigabit Ethernet cable and ran a Btest. Surprisingly I get Btests that start out at 350-450 Mbit (I was expecting more actually), but then it gradually drops down to 40-70 M...

Re: CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+PC

CPU reduction shouldn't matter to me. The CCR1009-8G-1S-1S I have is an absolute beast from hell. It's CPU changes between 0 and 2% during peak network times. It's like it's laughing at everything I throw at it. I love it! It replaced an RB1200 that had its CPU average around 25-35% during peak time...

Just realized I forgot to update my post after I solved my issue, so no reply is necessary. For anyone with a similar problem of RIP adding rogue routes for an entire class A then the solution would be to manually set your RIP version to v2 for all routers running ROS v5 or later. Re: RIP from Hell (RIP Bug?)

Is that typical behavior for RIPv1? If so then I don't see how RIP ever even made it to v1 with behavior like that. That seems like behavior for RIPv0.1 alpha 1 haha. I can try forcing all routers running RIP to v2, but as I said in a previous post, RIP works fine between ROS 3.30 routers that I hav...

DHCP lease info is usually displayed in the log by default. Have you taken a look there? Perhaps you can turn on debugging for DHCP in the log and get a bit more info there. Only other thing I can think of off hand that might be limiting the clients is if you have your Max Station Count set really l...

Ok after some further testing this seems to be a bug. Mind you I've only tested this for about a half hour, so if someone could verify this I would appreciate it. You can easily reproduce it on 6.19. I want my max-limit for both queues to be 10 Mbit. queue1 (priority 1) has no limit-at because I want it to have access to the 10 Mbit at all times, but queue2 (priority 8 ) has its limit-at set to 100 Kbit because I don't want it taking u...
