Re: Does Mikrotik IPSec implementation sucks or am I missing something?

Hi, i just recreated test config on another router. It's just default config + ipsec for 10.0.0.0/8 subnet. Local ip is 10.20.30.0/24. It behaves just like described. When IPSec establishes, connection to router is lost. /interface list add comment=defconf name=WAN add comment=defconf name=LAN /ip i...

Does Mikrotik IPSec implementation sucks or am I missing something?

Hi pros, i have the following situation: I want to route all the 10.0.0.0/8 traffic trough IPSec from a branch location. There is a star topology, every office having one of the 10.x.y.0/24 subnets, there are many offices, it's not reasonable to do a mesh or introduce like zilion phase 2 policies. W...

Re: rb4011 switch VLAN

Hi there. Just add the ether1 port to the bridge. It is important to set your vlans in two places. You mentioned one, untaged port must have additionaly set their PVID in ports tab under the bridge settings. Really strange implementation but what can we do.. As of software switching. It sucks. It wi...

Unfortuanately I think Userman is not a mature product and you should go with some other Radius server. There are many in open source and commercial.

Re: Strange temperature spikes in wAP AC

Does wifi perform equally bad on both frequency bands during those periods? If 5GHz sucks much more, this could be sign that QCA9880 (5GHz WLAN chip) gets into some busy loop... And that 2.4GHz is only collateral damage. Yes, I think both bands are affected. Nobody else is experiencing this issue? ...

Strange temperature spikes in wAP AC

Hi there, I'm seeing strange temperature spikes in some of the wAP AC devices, which are not corelated to high cpu or bandwidth usage. Users are reporting poor performance while this spikes are happening. Do you have any idea what this might mean or how to stop it? Please see graphs from Observium f...

Re: Poor quality of the capacitors in RouterBoards

I just went through our orders for capacitors and have found out, that we have changed almost 300 pcs of them. They were all kinds of 411s, 750, 450, you name it. We've also got some of the older 600 routers; all of them were puffed up. I think it's a real pity that Mikrotik behaves so unresponsivel...

Mangle queue: Connection and packet mark, why both?

Hi, there are lots of examles out there to manage QoS, that mark pcakets using things like: [admin@MikroTik] > /ip firewall mangle add chain=forward \ \... p2p=all-p2p action=mark-connection new-connection-mark=p2p_conn [admin@MikroTik] > /ip firewall mangle add chain=forward \ \... connection-mark=...

Re: HotSpot Problem

HI,

looks like two differnt problems to me. Did you enable remote dns queries? The other one would be routing or NAT problem, what do you get if you traceroute from hotspot to some external location?

Re: How can I hide proxy headers?

it was squid in 2.9.x, 3.x uses mikrotik proxy :) that is brave, really, making own proxy server when there is a real cool one. then we should be waiting for some unexpected cool features =] You mean like Gmail complaining of not cacheing cookies if you go trough Mikrotik proxy and alike? Is there a ...
