My ISP changed my VDSL2 modem/router few days ago and since then MT is behaving erratically, main problem being the PPPoE connection to the ISP. I solved it, the problem was in ISP. So much trouble for nothing. I only had to copy MAC address from ADSL interface on old router to the same interface on new one.

As T-Com Croatia has a policy of only 1 MAC per user.

Re: PPP mac filtering?

Note, that if users not that good, they will not use other client passwords. That's why you do not have to worry about MAC-address, as before customer should configure PPP client with correct username and password. Anyway, there is specific option at 'ppp secret', you may specify MAC-address. calle...

PPP mac filtering?

I want to put a simple "MAC filter" on the PPP secret, so a user can not connect if he isn't on the required computer (mac). I know MAC can be spoofed but let's assume that users are not that good and that the filter will do just fine. How to do that for VPN & PPPoE users? (example: my...

HotSpot WLAN question

It is a really beginner question. I tried already setting up the hotspot by just clicking "Next", but after I finish it, my other mates are then unable to connect... I also tried creating a hotspot manualy, by source NAT-ing dhcp addresses leased to a static web server, but that won't work...

How to force 10Mbit on LAN interface? The card is 3Com 3C905B 100BaseTX (Cyclone) rev: 0. This may be 100BaseTX card but it should allow to be forced to run on 10Mbit... When I enter interface ethernet and set that if to speed 10Mbps, and turn auto-negotiation off, the if stays on 100Mbps and by the...

I host a server and my friends can't connect to my server. I drop a connection to my router (PPPoE connection to router!) and estab...

How to limit bandwitdth for user?

Is there a way to make 10 different PPPoE accounts and every user should connect with his unique username and password to MikroTik, but they should have monthly bandwitdth capped (to the internet, through the router). Example: PPP account "Dakky" should have monthly limit set to 2 GB PPP a...
