Traffic Flood Question

Hi Everyone, I have have been investigating a strange issue that we are seeing at one of our POP sites. Here is what we have the site for topology: Core NEtwork ---- Microwave Backhaul --- Cisco NPE-G1 POP Router ---- Cisco Cat3500 Switch ---- AP1,2,3,4,5,6 There are about 15-20 APs on the tower, al...

Re: AP cpu vs clients vs bandwidth

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I am going to try a few tests with configuration adjustments and then also try an rb800 as I happen to have one and see how things go. I will post some results.

Cheers

AP cpu vs clients vs bandwidth

Hi Might not be the right subject line but here is my question. We have a fairly large MK install in a small down right now. We have 3 250ft towers around the town and all users have clear LOS. We are using some KP Performance 5GHz sectors and RB411AH with R52Hn cards in a dual chain setup. Most cpe...

NV2 Frequency spacing for colocated access points

Hi Everyone I had read a number of posts on nv2 and freq spacing when colocating multiple aps on a tower. I have read that you should be almost 100Mhz apart is this actually something that should be done? We are using for the most part R52Hn dual chain cards with KP Performance 5GHz 120 degree secto...

Re: ch0/ch1...the polarity of sextant 5hnd

on the sextant ch0 is on the h pol and ch1 is on the v pol of the antenna. This is an 802.11n unit so it is capable of dual chain links. Those check boxes define what chain is used for tx and rx.

RB800 + R52hn

Hi I am having an issue with a backhaul link. Currently we have a ptp with RB411AH Boards with R52hn cards. Link is about 5 miles solid rssi at - 50 using 40MHz channels I have 300Mbps solid with 100 percent ccq both ways. If I bandwidth test between the two units I see great udp and tcp traffic whe...

Monitor Traffic to CPE when using WDS

Hi, Am I missing something or is there an easy way in Winbox or any other utility for that matter that can help me with seeing the traffic per CPE/Registration from the AP. What I mean is that we are using AP Bridge and Station WDS for our setup an when each CPE registers it creates a WDS interface ...

Re: Planning a village-wide WISP P2MP system

We are using NV2 with a WDS setup so each ap is a bridge and each pop/tower has a router so our layer two does not extend past the pop/tower the client is connected to.

Re: Planning a village-wide WISP P2MP system

We have a decent deployment with a few thousand users and ser 30-35 as the max even with full rate and good ccq once we hit 40 things slow right down even undet a low traffic load.

Mix 2x2 and 1x1 on same AP and impact

Hi All, I am pretty sure I know the answer but wanted to fly it by everyone. If we have a sector that has both 1x1 and 2x2 clients connected to it what is the impact on the speed to the 2x2 clients and AP when there are 1x1 clients on line? Do things slow down when waiting on data from a 1x1 client ...

802.11n Chain question

Hi

Might be a stupid question but if we have a link and radio A has ch1 on H pol and Ch0 on V pol and radio B has the chains reversed so 1 is V and 0 is H will it work?

Thanks

Re: XR5 in routerboard in the 5.4-5.7GHz bands...

Is it something as simple as adjusting the scan list from default to say 5440,default for example? we have a few freq that are legit but not on the default scan list so despite setting the ap to freq xxxx the su wont scan so it never finds it. We just change scan list to that freq and then comma def...

Re: Strange 2.4GHz results - RB711-2Hn

Yeah we thought so as well but have since swapped all cable jumpers and pig tails...we only had a 2' lmr400 jumper so cable length is no issue.

It is a strange one for sure.

Strange 2.4GHz results - RB711-2Hn

Hi, We are having a bit of a strange issue, we have have a site with 200' tower that has a large wave guide going up to a high gain boradcast omni. This site was once used by another carrier who operated an MMDS system. We are doing some testing and when we connect an RB711-2Hn to the wave guide we ...

CPU power in the RB can only move about 40Mbps of tcp. Run something to iPerf and you will better results.

Re: R52Hn operate at 6GHz

Seems there is only one way to find out. Going to setup a link and test it out. Wondering if the power will drop off or if the card will drop out.

R52Hn operate at 6GHz

Hi

Is it possible to operate the R52Hn around 6000Mhz? we hold some licenses in the low 6GHz band and I was wondering if this card will work around 6020 as a center freq on a 20mhz channel. Our antennas will.

Re: Advice "station WDS vs station bridge"

It is my understanding that station bridge is only to be used in ptp links where the other side is setup as bridge not ap bridge. I could be wrong as we only do station wds on ptmp links.

RB/SEXTANT Cable hole

Is it just me or does anyone else think that the cable entry opening in the bottom panel on thr SEXTANT is in the wrong place. When using out door grade cable you cannot bend it to fit out the hole without risking snapping the connector off. We have almost 200 of these out there and have just been m...

Re: NAND Corruption Issues

We have had the same issue with about 4 411AH boards. All have a 24volt psu. They run fine then you reboot one day and boom they are corrupt.

Huge pain when they are 300' up a tower.

Wireless Multipoint different speeds per client

Hi, We run a wireless ISP and we have been deploying higher capacity services using the RouterOS platform and RB411AH boards, we typically have 5-6 CPE hanging off a sector however not all of them are connected at the same over the air data rate as some may be weaker signal due to distance. For exam...

HI All,

I was just wondering if the R5H wireless cards are certified by Industry Canada for operation in mid 5GHz frequency band?
