Re: nv2 multilink problem

Correction: the problem starts when the occupied bandwidth reaches 1/3-1/4 of total. More traffic on the link (or links) and more the problem grows. It's rather connected to the number of packages flowing trough. Check my earlier posts. As for the "real life" test ... prepare yourself for a shock o...

Re: 802.11n nstreme PTP (ap-bridge to station bridge)

NStreme and 802.11n MIMO don't play along to well. Try increasing framer limit (http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=66380#p342967) or do what karlos suggested: http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=66380#p344548. You can try raising framer limit. See my post in topic: http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php ... 80#p342967

But I find it to be rather individual. If it's point-to-point, employ NV2 instead.

On a 5 km link it's 100/100%. nstreme is the only answer try to change 2x2 on 1x1 HT it should prevent from disconnects every 5-15 minuts I second that. Log, use RB800 in any case. Very solid and very fast platform, which will do more than find. If it's too expensive, keep with RB435G (due to Gigabit ETH ports). It will do fine as well. If you have more to spend, and you decide in favour of RB800, you can look up for 3x3 MIMO PCI-E cards. Otherwise,...

Re: NSTREME and DUAL-NSTREME on N cards, do you plan to solv

In my experience, it performs far better. At least 40% better.
There is also an option to use bridge / station bridge combination. Create a bridge (rstp) and set ports wlan and eth. Set bridge_mode=enabled on wlan. Even this does better than wds for me, but somehow, mpls/vpls gets better results.

That was fast! Tnx!

Well, I actually find that framer_limit=3200 in my particular case causes wlans to loose connection every 5 - 10 min. When I increased it to 4000, the connection got stable. It appears to be individual and dependant on the situation. Btw, I use vpls/mpls instead of wds.

Re: PPPoE IP pools from RADIUS

Marko

U can always define IP pool within each MT that runs PPPoE server and than let Raduis do the job on authentication. Just keep the names of the pools the same on all MT's and change the IP's. That's not a problem.

Tell me, what does "_bg" stands for in your uname? Where are you from?

Re: PPPoE IP pools from RADIUS

I'm using Radius manager & I have already do that. You have to modify 2 files: radiusd.conf users Inside radiusd.conf you have to load the ippool module & create the pools you need: Who's RM are you using - DMASoftLab's I presume. What version of FreeRadius are you running? I think the elder ones d...

Strange ARP behavior

I have a rather strange ARP list behavior. Here is a situation in general : Recently I added one AMD 2,4 Ghz board within the existing network with sole purpose to act as an inside router (just to take some load of the other on running at the same spot). Ruter is running MT3.22 and routing protocol ...

Re: Single NAS or shared IP Pool

Rather close to that. OSPF or RIP does the job as regards to routing. The problem is that the existing setup of my RADIUS server is issuing IP's from the IP pools within MT's. With this setup, if I intend to dedicate a /24 range to PPPoE users, I will, as you understood, need to devide it to appropr...

Single NAS or shared IP Pool

Pure and simple, has anyone managed to set a single NAS (network access server) for multiple MT access points or is there, at least, a way to create a shared IP Pool? Purpose is to set a range of Public IP's which would dynamically be pushed to PPPoE clients. So, either I will need a single PPPoE te...

Re: 22,5 km link NStream Duo

Quite agree with you on the matter of 40 Mhz channels. I did a test and got constant 54 Mbps full duplex, with some peeks to higher. Again measured both directions at the same time. As for the antennas, I agree with you once again. They are overcharging them. Ones we are speaking of here are of Paci...

22,5 km link NStream Duo

I know this is far than the best you can find in this forum, but ... it's a kind of success, considering everyting. Here are the specs.: Point A: ASUS MB running Intel 1,6 GHz, 512 Mb RAM, FlashDisk CM9 and MT's R52 wireless cards on 5GHz dual polarity dish 32dbi Point B: ASUS MB running Intel 2 Ghz...

Two gateways and pinging issue

I have a problem with managing traffic on one MTBox with two gateways. Namely, GW1 is providing 20 mbps link, with 1 static IP. GW2 has 2 mbps link with complete C class subnet. I mangled HTTP, FTP, P2P and SMTP traffic, while FTP and SMTP are directed to GW2, HTTP is shared between GW1 and GW2 and ...

Thanks for the tip Sergej. Anyhow, I did it the other way - similar way. I used a script (mentioned before) to creatre multiple simple queues for each address, and it appears to be running fine ... as long as the traffic is within one subnet and one Mikrotik AP ... Well, lets present the idea: I mad...

Sorry! Just stumbled accross a fine example. For those, tracking this topic, look at: http://forum.mikrotik.com//viewtopic.ph ... mple+queue

A pretty nice on. Needs just a bit tuning and it will work (different treat for local / outgoing traffic).

Thanks!

On my great disappointment, I realised that yesterday. Apparently, there's no easy way arround, and I'll have to make a simple queue for each address assigned.

Do you know of any script that's a bit automatizing the matter?

Simple queue & target-address question

I followed an example given at http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/How_to_apply_different_limits_for_Local/Overseas_traffic in order to get a differen treat for the local and outgoing trafic. It workes just fine. But, something is bugging me ... After marking the traffic and the packets, in Simple Queue I...

Network topology and 67 km link

So, I got to the point where I have no expiriance at all and I do need a solicitaion from all of you that went trough with this. As breaf as it can get, my ISP (a new one) is assigning me /24 IP address space. Now, as always, there is BUT and this BUT is that ISP is 67 km away. So, what I need to do...

User manager and flatrate monthly cards

I've been playing around with a test version (2.9.26) and it's User Manager and I do think the job has been done pretty well. Congratulations to MIKROTIK team! Newertheless, it seems that there's one thing missing ... or did I miss it. For instance, I wish to issue a flatrate card, with only a rate ...
