Re: Are MikroTik 10G DAC cables "standard"? [SOLVED]

I'm planning to do a 10G network with CRS-317 and I need to know what DAC cables are compatible or tested.

Also, on the PCI cards, what is recommended ?
Will a 50$ card from ebay work much slower than a Intel x710 ?

hah, it seems that I have the same problem.

SN: 673705914040 / 603

After unboxing I tested and got constant 250mbps in AC in the first day but afterwards I can't get over 30Mbps , even at close distance.

I can post videos of this, hopefully we'll get a fix for this.

Hi. I run several hotspots and I have a weird problem to only one installation. Hardare setup: Internet -> RB750G with basic hotspot config -> managed switch -> fiber to the locations -> Wireless AP -> ~~ CPE -> Customer Computer. When as customer requires a DHCP IP, he appears on the RB with his CP...

Re: Hotspot bypass subnet not working...

well, something is wrong, for sure... I even removed a port from the bridge, and put a patch cable between the RB750 and the switch, assigned the 192.168.11.0/24 class to that port, and still i'm unable to access the switch. If I disable the hotspot i can access all of them, no problem. If I put a d...

Hotspot bypass subnet not working...

Hi. For a WISP, we choosed hotspot for user AAA. The customers have ip's from 10.0.11.0/24 and their CPE's have 192.168.11.0/24 The problem is that i can't acces the CPE's because of the hotspot firewall. I tried to put the subnet bypassed, not working. Tried to add forward-accept rules in filter ta...

Re: Hotspot for conference room, 200 connections

2 mikrotik 500r5 shuld let u have 200 uses working smoothly All I have on stock is rb 400 series and 600 series :) I was thinking at two rb433AH, with 6 miniPCI's, with 2 ap's on ch.1 , 2 on ch.6 and 2 on ch.11 Each AP should have a 40 client limit, and in that way i'll have a limit of 240 clients....

Re: Hotspot for conference room, 200 connections

Make sure you set the max clients on each wireless interface. You don't want everyone connecting to one radio.
ok ok, but hardware, what's the limit/recommended connections per wlan interface ?

Hotspot for conference room, 200 connections

Hi,

I need to prepare for a conference a device that will deliver wireless access for around 200 laptops.

My first thought is one or maybe more RB433AH + 3 x R52, each operating in 1,6,11 channels.

If someone has any ideeas and suggestions, you are most welcomed :)

Thank you

Re: is 50 kms non line of sight link possible??

and remember, there is no spoon :)

For 50km, you need some strong equipments. My advice is to find a place to put a repeater/corner device (rb433 with 2 cards) to retransmit the signal.

In most of the cases, it's faster and better.

Re: EMP8603 wrong power setting

i have the same problem, the emp8603 shows only 19db in 2.4ghz, B only.

In their datasheet is advertised as 800mW , and that is 29dBm

On every setting that i've tried, the max output power is 19dBm.

What could be the problem ?

Re: Managing an ISP

well, lonecrow, you are wrong :) LMS DOES traffic shaping , graphing and management of networks. Like I said, it looks easy, but it isn't , from some point... For shaping , you have multiple possibilities. 1st, it's the firewall combined htb that does your shaping, but that in my opinion, is not a s...

Re: RB 433AH + UB5 (AP-Bridge) and RB 411 + UB5 (station)

check your encryption settings

Wireless -> Security Profile
well, everything is default... before doing any configuration, i did from console "system reset"

i noticed that all the files from the "Files" section are gone.

Any way to get them back ? :) Or, i should reinstall the OS ?

Re: RB 433AH + UB5 (AP-Bridge) and RB 411 + UB5 (station)

well, i changed the rb411 with rb600, and now works, i mean, i can see the ap-bridge. funny thing, i was unable to obtain a successful association until i added the "station" mac on the ap-bridge connection list. with "default authentification" checked, i always got in logs "authentification failed"...

Re: Managing an ISP

for a complete isp management solution, and easy to integrate into mikrotik, i suggest you use lms (lms.org.pl)

i can provide install and custom setup with a small fee. or you can try to learn it by yourself... :)

RB 433AH + UB5 (AP-Bridge) and RB 411 + UB5 (station)

As stated in the subject, those two babies won't work together for me... So, reseted to default both boards the rb433+ub5 is putted in Ap-Bridge (no other settings made) the rb411+ub5 is set up as Station. On the station, the scan window does not display anything. I've tried several configurations, ...

I want the routeros to act as a dhcp server and hotspot (authentification, adverts) i'm new to mikrotik (today i've put my hands on a RB433AH) and in the near future I need to know the RouterOS by the book, so i'm starting to try d...
