Well this is what happens when you lend your router to a friend. They managed to break the SIM connector on my WAP R, anyone know the part number so I can change it rather than get a new router? Yes I know I need this cable, I have it! My question was do the u.fl to SMA F pigtails fit in the case, those holes don't look right to me.... I've been doing a bit of experimentation today by attaching my external MT LTE antenna to an SXT LTE6 Kit (it's not easy) to see what the performance is like...

Hi

Before I by a wAP ac LTE6 kit I'm wanting to know if the U.FL to SMA pigtails (ACSMAUFL) I have for my wAP ac LTE kit will fit as the holes in the case don't look the same? As I'd like to reuse the external antenna mANT LTE 5o I just bought last week

I've now tried a few more things. -Running PoE from 240v > 24v adaptor -Resetting wAP config -Using a new network cable from my laptop to wAP and 240V > 24v adaptor and different PoE injector All these fail, it's a mechanical fault in the board mounted socket I think and I cannot repair that here.

Hi I've got the older - wAP ac LTE kit powered via PoE from a MT AP inside my boat (inland waterway's no nasty salt to deal with) and it's been excellent, although occasionally it will cut out and on investigation turns out the Ethernet port stops TX/RX data, a bit of a wiggle will get it going agai...

That might be it, there are 2 APNs listed when I use the SIM in an adroid phone:

Name | APN | APN Type
3 | three.co.uk | default, mms, supl
3 Hotspot | 3hotspot | dun

Perhaps I'll have to buy a wAP LTE and test it out.

wAP LTE SIM Personal Hotspot Limits - Three UK [SOLVED]

In the UK the carrier "Three" has some good deals on SIMs but they spilt the data allowance up into Personal Hotspot and Use by the phone. I'm not sure how the separation is done, possibly traffic tagging on the phone. How does the wAP LTE deal with this, is it configurable?

Re: AR5213/5413, RB PPPoE and OSbridge 5XLi disconnection issues

Been using 2.4GHz ossies with MikroTik APs for a long time without any great problem - only irritation is that when you set one up to do PPPoE it will not pass on the DNS config to the connected DHCP clients so you have to hard code the DNS servers into the DHCP which seems a little pointless.

You are probably updating the remote site OK but just not seeing the changes, you could set the site to bypass the cache on the router or add http headers to the websites pages explicitly telling the router not to cache them. Once the website development is complete you can remove the header again.

You can do it from Winbox, you will need to open a "New Terminal" (see buttons on left hand side)

It is probably worth upgrading the bios before you begin.

I am very sure about the channels overlapping so much, this is one reason so many WISPs are moving to 802.11a (5GHz) where there is a little more space.

You may have a power problem too but it is easy to try different channels first.

I've been setting RTS/CTS (fragmentation) on all client devices on a test AP to 512, so far things are looking OK, apparently this will help with the hidden node problem and allow a larger number of clients per AP before things start to fall appart. Unfortunatley the MT does not seem to have an opti...

in that case you need to have the PPPoE server on the Wireless or Bridge interface.... have you tried it on a wired interface at all?

You possibly need to put the PPPoE server and IP address onto the bridge other than that it should be ok. My only other thought is that you need to allow encryption on the MT PPP profile or in Windows let it connect without encryption (encrypted is the default).

Have you enabled the PPPoE server on the Wireless Interface?

in System | Logging you can enable debug logging for PPP(oE) I think which might help

The channels being used looks OK to me.

Are you able to play games etc or download a large file from the ISP/Internet using a wired connection to the MikroTik without disconnection from the ISP?

Sorry for all these questions I'm trying to eliminate possible problems one at a time.

Is your local hotspot Prism 2 card on a different channel to that of ther ISP link? it should be eg:

ISP Chan 1, Hotspot Chan 6
ISP Chan 1, Hotspot Chan 11
ISP Chan 6, Hotspot Chan 1
ISP Chan 6, Hotspot Chan 11

etc

Hi Evan_reBOOT Firstly here you will get no help from MikroTik unless you are running the latest version of their RouterOS 2.9.11 (Sorry but someone had to say it ;)) 2.9.11 will give you some benefits over 2.8.2 which is pretty old I’d really think about an upgrade to 2.8.28 at least, in this situa...

MT have a new board out really soon, the 100 series it will be cheaper than the 500.

If you stick with MT for AP and CPE then you can have some neat things going on like NStream - Polling (avoids hidden nodes) and you could build a Mesh too!

Where are you doing your DNS lookups on the laptop? do you have it using the MT or your ISP?

If it is the latter then you need to put the DNS settings from your ISP into the MT, then have the laptop do DNS against the MT, that way you are caching DNS too!
