Re: RB922UAGS-5HPacD, ether1 broken?

How did you do the factory reset? From the quick guide ( http://i.mt.lv/routerboard/files/rb9xx-ac-qg.pdf ): RouterOS reset jumper hole (Reset2 in above image) – resets RouterOS software to defaults. Must short circuit the metallic sides of the hole (with a screwdriver, for example) and boot the dev...

Re: Is RB922UAGS-5HPacD reset jumper missing?

Did you figure this out? Is there a reset jumper? If not, is there an alternate way to set to factory defaults?

Test Link result

What am I doing wrong here. The only difference between the two stations is the RX sensitivity. Why is there a 4dB difference in theoretical signal level?

Accessing CPE in station-pseudobridge-clone mode

G'day, I have an SXT in station-pseudobridge-clone mode. This works fine in that the device plugged into the SXT Ethernet port has full connectivity. Problem is I can longer reach the SXT with Winbox. I guess the SXT no longer has a MAC address of it's own to communicate with. How is this situation ...

station-pseudobridge compatibility

G'day, One of our customers has an IP camera plugged into an SXT. The SXT is operating in station-pseudobridge mode and is associated with a Ruckus AP. A PC that is plugged into the same switch as the AP can ping the SXT, but cannot ping the camera. From the CLI on the SXT it is possible to ping bot...

Re: 10 AP running mesh on ethernet

A couple of our customers are having the same issue: "disconnected, registered to other device in network " In one case there are four APs. Only one AP has backhaul the other three are using WDS bridging to the first AP. The further out AP has to hop through one AP to get to the root AP. T...

I added this to the Feature Request List. (http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/MikroTik_ ... e_Requests)

NAT and the Law

G'day, We would like to issue private IPs to the hotspot subscribers, and then NAT them onto the one public IP assigned to the AP. Problem is, the police could come by with the public IP and a time period, asking for the name of the subscriber. With the information that is normally logged, we could ...

Re: R52/H/N

Did anyone actually go through with Telec certification?

We would be interested in buying radio cards that have modular Telec certification. Either the R52Hn or a similar card that is RouterBoard compatible.

Persistent SNMP interface index

We are doing some SNMP queries based on the wlan1 interface index number. Can we be sure that the interfaces will always have the same index numbers after a reboot? (assuming no configuration changes) Is there some trick (such as changing MAC addresses?) that will influence what interface index numb...

Webbox broken

I have an RB411 with a simple bridged configuration. Using webbox to change the SSID makes a mess of the entire RouterBoard configuration. As an example, my script configures the DHCP client. The DHCP client does work. Output of the export command shows that the DHCP client is properly configured. Y...

Re: ROS4.9 and Hotspot Bridge multiple RB433 Problem

I had a problem related to this using 4.9 and RB411 in a simple configuration that simply bridged the wlan and ether interfaces. At start-up the bridge assumed the MAC address of the wlan interface. When a station associated the bridge would switch its MAC address to the one of the ether interface. ...

Re: "Daytime => Time of day" service

I am interested in DOCSIS provisioning as well.

Are there really "several options" for ToD (RFC-868, port 37)?

I can't find any. I am now using a NIST server, but would prefer to have all services local.

v3.25 downgrade to v3.23 license issue

I just tried downgrading the firmware on an RB433 from v3.25 to v3.23 (customer request). I believe that v3.25 is the original firmware. After reboot Winbox showed a message saying I didn't have a valid license. Software ID changed after the downgrade. Both ID's are of the form xxxx-xxxx The page &q...

Client MAC visibility through hotspot

It is important to a prospect of ours that the true MAC address of wireless hotspot users be visible on the directly connected wired network. Basically the AP should work as a simple bridge with the hotspot allowing hotspot authorized traffic through the bridge unaltered, and unauthorized traffic be...

Re: WEP shared key authentication

Thanks, but the RB433 is operating in client mode.

>> /interface wireless set wlan1 allow-sharedkey=yes

This only applies when operating as an AP, even then it's meaning is closer to "ingore" than to "support". (page 139 of OS3.0 ref manual).

Thank-you for responding. As this project proceeds I'll let you know of any specific MIB variables that our prospect feels he can't do without. At this time, the issue isn't missing variables. Our prospect already has thousands of access points installed. He has set up his SNMP software to take adva...

Re: WEP shared key authentication

It agree, WEP is not safe, but sometimes (CPE) it is required it will be connected to a point at which it is adjusted WEP and in this case 3 version cannot will be connected to this point. At construction certainly it is not necessary to use WEP, and to use WPA and WPA2, but RouterOS should have an...

WEP shared key authentication

I am trying to use an RB433 as a station-pseudobridge against an existing Wili AP. (Gave up on WDS). The Wili AP is configured for WEP encryption and authentication. If I temporarily disable WEP authentication on the Wili everything works. When shared key authentication is re-enabled I get the "...

IEEE 802.11 MIB

After experimenting with the Dude and Net-SNMP I've come to the conclusion that RouterOS on my RB411 does not support the "IEEE802dot11-MIB". Is that right? Some of the information that can be polled for with IEEE MIB must be available to the existing agent. Is there anything I can do to m...
