Has anyone had any success extracting the signal strength?

I tried using "info" and "monitor" but cant figure how the signal value is extracted.

I'm keen as m2m has said, to use in scripting to deliver signal strengths to our central monitoring facility.

Thats true RK, But how do you detect loss of mains power easily from the routerboard?
