Re: Dude Switch Port Monitor with Media converter always show up

Hi, Since I do not know what media converters you are using, you need to see if they support LFP/LLP (they usually have DIP switches for this). If this is the case, you can enable this feature to allow the 'fault' to pass through and therefore alert the Dude. Look up LFP or 'Link fault Passthrough" ...

Re: Mikrotik R52n_m radios go silent after a period of time.

Hi rgraham,

Just putting/placing the voltage meter on the 3.3vDC jumper probably will not be much help. You need to place an amp meter in line to see the current being draw in Amps and not the voltage in Volts.

Hope that helps,

Re: Mikrotik R52n_m radios go silent after a period of time.

Hi rgraham, In a DC watts to amps conversion, the current I in amps (A) is equal to the power P in watts (W) when divided by the voltage V in volts (V), i.e. I(A) = P(W) / V(V). So in your case you are right, it is 3.03Amps approx. Did you get a spec sheet with the convertors? It might give you the ...

Hi Sigma,

Depends on what you are expecting the unit to do.

Is it just for AAA or shall you then be doing mangling, queuing .... ?
Do you need on-board encryption, de-decryption?

Also, with 20k users, you might want to think about some load balancing and/or redundancy.

Hi, Maybe creating a tick box on the 'NTP' tab that says 'update NTP time on reboot' can force the RB unit to look for the NTP server and update the time. Hi, The RB600 can pull a max of 35w and at 48v that would be approx 0.8A 1 x R52Hn is max 7W; 3 x R52 at 2.4W each is 7.2W; 1 x CM9 is max 0.5W. Hi Alex, Could be a question of watts or amps and not volts. Also, if you hava a long PoE cable run, this might also cause voltage drops. Rgds, ...

My feelings exactly.

We install these mostly on outdoor AP units and that means we regularly get 45 Deg C temperatures on them - externally.

Moving parts are usually the first to fail and if the RB800 uses a fan for normal operation then I only forsee problems with this.
