Re: Check incoming IP addresses for fraud/reputation

Hi,

Really? Never heard of that .... :-?
So running a service eg a SIP gateway behind a Mikrotik router does not mean you have to accept externally originating traffic??
That's what I need to check - incoming connections via their IP address ...

Check incoming IP addresses for fraud/reputation

Hi All, Has anybody tried to use scripting or some other method to check incoming IP connections (globally or to certain services only) for reputation by an external provider like https://scamalytics.com/? Hi, Since I do not know what media converters you are using, you need to see if they support LFP/LLP (they usually have DIP switches for this). Hi rgraham,

Just putting/placing the voltage meter on the 3.3vDC jumper probably will not be much help. You need to place an amp meter in line to see the current being draw in Amps and not the voltage in Volts.

Hope that helps,

Hi rgraham, In a DC watts to amps conversion, the current I in amps (A) is equal to the power P in watts (W) when divided by the voltage V in volts (V), i.e. I(A) = P(W) / V(V). So in your case you are right, it is 3.03Amps approx. Did you get a spec sheet with the convertors? It might give you the ...

Hi Sigma,

Depends on what you are expecting the unit to do.

Is it just for AAA or shall you then be doing mangling, queuing .... ?
Do you need on-board encryption, de-decryption?

Also, with 20k users, you might want to think about some load balancing and/or redundancy.

My feelings exactly.

We install these mostly on outdoor AP units and that means we regularly get 45 Deg C temperatures on them - externally.

using 2 RB and the antenna command will work fine and is WAY cheaper then a spectrum analyzer Thanks for the feedback but could you please explain more how to utilise the 'antenna command' for this (do you mean 'alignment mode' - if so, never got that to work :( )? What to do on side A and on side ...

Re: Directional Antenna Alginment with Spectrum analyser

Hi,

Thank you for your answer.

My point is can I use an RBxxx to do this? Or is it not possible via any mode setting?
Or do I need another piece of kit to do this?

Directional Antenna Alginment with Spectrum analyser

Hi, Is there any way that one can align directional (PTP) link antennas with the help of a spectrum analyser? The scenario I am thinking of is that one would use the analyser at one side of the link and MAYBE an RBxxx at the other that is putting out power on a pre selected frequency (BTW, can an RB...

Re: Engenius 802.11AGB EMP-8603 with RBs work?

Hi zaha,

I would also recommend LandaTel - http://www.landashop.com - they have good prices, good service and excellent shipping rates.

Since you are both based in Spain, you can also 'Pick Up' the goods at no cost :D .

Mark.

Re: Engenius 802.11AGB EMP-8603 with RBs work?

Hi, Have just prepped an RB433AH with 1 x Engenius 802.11AGB EMP-8603 miniPCI (connected to Omni) and 2 x Mikrotik R52H miniPCI connected to 2 x 90 deg Sectoral Antennae. On the bench all seems to be working perfectly. (Make sure to connect to the proper MMCX connector on the Engenius miniPCI - it h...

Re: did someone have used this cheap spectrum analyzer ?

Have one of these for quick and dirty scans.
Practically worthless without having a notebook connected. :?
Otherwise, can give some good results and if you are pretty careful with what to press and when, you can record and replay your scans. :o

Also, software needs somework.

Re: Multiple routerboards in a single enclosure

Thank you for your feedback. I thought of the interference between the miniPCI cards but then the RB600A can actually have eight on board with the daughter card and this by design. What about the heat considerations? If the enclosure if more that 4 x the volume of a 'single' enclosure, would this no...

Multiple routerboards in a single enclosure

Hi All, I am wondering if there are any considerations to be taken into account if I were to mount 4 or 5 routerboards in the same outdoor enclosure (IP67 rated - metal or otherwise). This is mostly to reduce space taken up on the mast by the regular enclosures and also to reduce patch cords going f...
