It works fine for me starting 2.9.7 - but I'm using 2.9.10 now. Perhaps, you have another set of firewall rule that is located before this one? Another thing: It seems the time limiting feature cannot work for the entire time period if you set it for a time period that goes over midnight (e.g. 20:0...

How to block FTP traffic?

I am using firewalling of port 21. 3 chain=forward src-address=10.0.0.0/8 dst-address=10.0.0.0/8 protocol=tcp dst-port=21 time=0s-2h,sat,fri,thu,wed,tue,mon,sun action=drop But, what if someone changes port on ftp server, to lets say port 58 or something? Is there a way to block FTP in a way like P2...

there is no easy and direct way to filter this traffic. because if you enable `default-forwarding`, the data will be forwarded directly in the hardware level, and firewall doesn't catch it. if you disable the forwarding, no data will be forwarded between the clients (at all). Is there a hard and in...

i think this topic is full of misunderstandings. please explain once more - what is your objective in your network, and what causes problems. OK, this is the rule that I use to limit all client`s p2p traffic. chain=forward src-address=10.0.0.0/8 dst-address=10.0.0.0/8 p2p=all-p2p time=20h-23h59m,sa...

So if you disable default-forwarding, clients still can connect to the AP and surf the internet, but cannot communicate amongst each others DIRECTLY. OK, since there is no internet access (it is only LAN), it is vital for wireless users to comunicate with each other and also to be filtered by MT fi...

wireless users Do connect to each other through the AP, if you disable forwarding then they simply won't be able to communicate anymore.
So, how do I apply firewall rules to those wireless clients if forwarding must be enabled in order they can comunicate to each other.

Yes, I disabled default-forwarding, but then wireless clients can not communicate at all.

AP-bridge mode and wireless clients

I have four clients connecting to MT box with card in Ap-bridge mode. Everything is working fine, except one thing - I can not apply firewall rules for those clients between themselves. Example: I have firewall rule which drops p2p packets between 20:00 and 22:00 hours and this rule works only betwe...

I haven`t tried 2.9.11. Here is changelog for 2.9.7: What's new in 2.9.7: *) fixed bug - web server could crash sometimes (introduced in 2.9.6); *) fixed traceroute time display; *) added route rule configuration; *) fixed performance problem with universal client on RB500; *) improved dynamic wirel...

Anyone tried that time limit in 2.9.7 version?
It still doesn`t work for me. I have set it 20:00:00 - 23:00:00, but the traffic is limited to 1kB/s all the time, not only at preset time.

Problem with the bridge

At the roof of my house, I have a computer with one wireless and one ethernet cards. Using MT, I am connecting to remote AP with my wireless card in station mode and with ethernet card by cable to my main computer in ground-floor. Wireless card successfully connects to remote AP which I can ping fro...

sergejs,
if I see this right, the only difference between equal band. sharing and limit band. per IP is in using different parent in queue tree.
In the first case, parent="name of the interface"
in the second, parent= "global-in or out"
Is that right?

Bandwith limiting per IP

How do I limit bandwith per IP?
I use equal bandwith sharing as done here http://www.mikrotik.com/docs/ros/2.9/root/queue , but it not what I need.
I want to limit each user attached to interface Local to have 16KB UL/DL and no more, I do not want them to use any spare bandwith (if there is any).

Simple queue - timelimiting do not work

I am trying to make a queue to limit all p2p on subnet 10.20.1.0/24 to 1kB/s from 20:00 to 01:00 hours.
The limit works, but all the time, not only between 20-01.
Is it a bug with 2.9.2 version or it should be done somehow different?
