Re: Interface(s) don't flow unless manually taken up/down

Here is a script that I found on the forums here and modified to reset what I'm calling a "blackhole" condition because I came across that term in my above research and it sounded cool. I have not confirmed if my condition is the same as described elsewhere under that name. The email featu...

Re: Feature request: RFC3164 log conformity

Well I tried the "workaround" that I was guessing at above and it didn't work like I thought it might. (1) set a new logging action called "remoteWarning" for remote server and set to BSD option enabled, facility: syslog, and for severity I tried to set to warning and then I trie...

Re: Feature request: RFC3164 log conformity

Hope maybe Mikrotik is reconsidering more RFC formatting/conformance since these posts many years ago. I think remote logging and log analysis tools have become quite popular and it would be nice if Mikrotik devices were plug-and-play. The #1 request from me would be to at least to encode SEVERITY l...

Re: Interface(s) don't flow unless manually taken up/down

Been continuing research on this and found a number of things that seem possibly relevant. This rather old post from 2013 talks about autonegotiation mismatches and problems they can cause. This seems plausible for my situation because I have not been able to get autonegotiate settings on the vmware...

Interface(s) don't flow unless manually taken up/down

I have a couple of CRS305's and have a strange issue where interfaces sometimes (in particular on boot/reboot) don't flow until they are toggled down and then back up. I'm going to write a simple script to do this if RX or TX packets are only 0 or 1 for some period of time as a workaround, but it wo...

Re: Why isn't 10G available to assign an interface?

Just some follow up info..... in SwOS on the CRS305 I can't get the Nebula L45593-C216-D10 to work consistently (oddly, they work once then never again... I believe at 10GbE but am not certain they were that speed). There is no way to force to 10GbE that I can find. But in ROUTEROS they seem to work...

Re: Why remote logging not work?

Ugh! I wasted so much time trying to figure this out. It would be nice if the interface and wiki had a LOT more information on this. It does not help user very much if documentation simply lists the options that can already be seen as present. We need to know important little details like these. And...

Re: Webfig timeout

What determines that a user session is expired in webfig? I'm also seeing logouts after what seems like an exceedingly short interval. I can't imagine that it is supposed to function this way.

Re: CRS305 POE & multiple power input function [SOLVED]

Is it safe to assume that POE is isolated from the two DC jacks? I am looking to use all three inputs and have the device select between them. I don't care which input the device uses or if it can somehow use all at once. Just as long as I don't short out the device or m power sources. The product i...

Why isn't 10G available to assign an interface?

Is there a reason that 10G isn't a default option for link speed? Is there a way to force to 10G? I guess it only appears when it has a recognized, capable SFP/cable inserted? I have read in some places that auto-negotiate is not possible with 10G links. I'm having some issues getting my CRS305-1G-4...

Re: CRS305 POE & multiple power input function [SOLVED]

Interesting -- I hadn't considered highest voltage as logic. Then I assume that POE will be lowest in my case because of voltage drop on smaller wires. And in looking at the Mikrotik injectors more closely I think that voltage drop is the reason it says 18v on the low end in a few specs. The product...

CRS305 POE & multiple power input function [SOLVED]

Hello, I see specs say 3 different power inputs including POE for the CRS305. Questions: (1) does it draw on all 3 simultaneously or does it failover? (2) If failover, what priority? (3) Is the GBPOE adapter suitable? (4) Is the RBPOE adapter suitable? I would like to use 12v source voltage which is...

Re: Cache hits problem on 6.x

I am finding a lot of posts with this problem but no solutions unfortunately. If anyone can help, please do. I have the same problem where I can't seem to get the first mangle to see any dscp coming off the proxy cache.

I am using 6.17

Re: any Idea to get Cache out with lan speed 100m

Any updated on this? I am having the same problem. There are a number of posts with this type of problem but the ones I've found don't have a resolution. I can't get mangle to see the dscp of the mikrotik cache. I have tried a lot of different things but no luck. If I remove the DSCP value from the ...

Re: RouterOS v6rc11

I am also seeing cpu pegged fairly regularly on a RB2011UAS-2HnD. It looks like it may be due to winbox process as that was where the load was under Process list at the time. I was on the firmware that shipped with the unit that I just received but have upgraded to latest 3.04 to see if that helps.

Adding Local Ethernet Port to HWMP node

Hey all... I'm playing around with HWMP, seems to work pretty well, but I can't seem to get ethernet ports (other than gateway) onto the mesh. Seems like fdb or routing thing... mesh thinks they are outsiders or something. Any ideas to point me in the right direction? can't find enough documentation...
