Re: Firewall NAT logging!

As the failed login attempts appear from a NAT router ( unless the address is spoofed !) I don't believe address seen by SSH daemon (on radius server) is spoofed. So somebody from internet (or LAN?) is trying to get into your not-so-well hidden SSH service. As all failed logins appear to originate from your NAT router, you probably have one src-nat too many (or some too greedy src-nat). Possible, speed depends on your allowed EIRP.
in the EU with 30/36dBm max it would be hard to get this speed with 802.11 Hardware.

If your Budget allowes it, I would go with UBNt AF5x HD
Just curious have you used UBNt AF5x HD ?

As much as I love using mikrotik for routing and client CPEs (easy to check for issues, etc), they make horrible backbone links. We've been slowly switching over to Airfiber (5Ghz) from Netmetals. Difference is very noticeable.
Can you say how much the difference is after switchover ?

After updating AP (921GS-5HPacD r2) to 6.41.3, the signal strenght has been lowered in some clients (in 6.38 and 6.34 everything was okay).

use 24V.
If you need to power from 12v battery, use a 12V->24V DC DC adapter.
I wouldn't use a DC converter because of inverter efficency which maybe 85-90%, much easier and more power efficient is to put second 12v battery in series for 24v.

Re: Nv2-downlink-ratio - new huge bandwidth increase setting

dynamic downlink ratio 75% appears to working best so far but NV2 AP and NV2 PTP ( tried Nstreme but link kept disconnecting ) may not be ideal for PPPoE clients What dynamic downlink ratio settings have you tried and what was the aprox difference in down/up speeds ? I have not tested 75 yet. North...

MPLS Loopback dynamic and passive

MPLS loopback interface which is set to "passive" in ospf interfaces but also this router has "all interfaces=passive" but the status of this interface is displayed as Dynamic and Passive, I have difficulty in understanding the combination of "all interfaces=passive" bu...

Re: radar detected problems

Shouldn't be the weather radar detected by special pattern it transmits? This pattern should be positively recognised by the radio. If not then no radar detected result is the only acceptable output. Definitely no false positive detection can occur... Is that so? Ideally yes but all bets are off wh...

Re: radar detected problems

I totally agree and when signals from co location AP's at a site start this "Radar Detected" nonsense and frequency hopping like crazy - is nuts?
How do you disable ?

Just a follow up on this old post , How can I ensure new data is displayed as a individual line rather than a concatenate of a existing line ?

I have a script that is scheduled to run every 15mins on my CPE's but the problem ones give 96 emails per day like this one below ( note - the email subject line has all the data i need ) "AP Identity : CPE Identity : 16:21:54: jul/10/2017: XXX ping avg: 134-ms Sent:200 Received:200 SNR: 37 Sig...

Its the false positives I am concerned about and how to reduce it happening, is Mikrotik just detecting any RF signal between (5470-5725MHz) band U-NII-2e as Radar?

Radar Detection

I am finding radar detection a real nuisance on AP's (1) When the wireless scan reports radar detected on freq XXXX Is it actually reporting another wireless device? (2) When I set for example AP frequency=5520 and scan=5500-5540 , after radar scan the AP could select say 5745 but the AP frequency i...

@gustavomam Many thanks for your reply, I took a different approach where the script states "ping sent=200" and then it counts received and this along with average figure, etc is listed in my email :local re :local relo :set relo value=200 /tool flood-ping $rte count=200 size=56 do={ :set ...

Count timed out pings

I have been using ping average script but this does not allow in the calculation of the average figure - pings that have timed out,
So it is possible to count timed out pings.
