Change channel width to 40Mhz and band to 5GHz-N (if your card in RB433 supports it). Since you run single polarisation device (Groove) with 5GHz-A and 20MHz channel width you can expect maximum ~35-40Mbps real throughput with your current settings. I'm afraid mixing different brands (RocketM2 with RB433) isn't a good idea. You lose TDMA (AirMax and nstreme/nv2 aren't compatible). Even if hypter terminal has the wrong settings for baud and parity you should see characters being echoed or displayed. It can't be simpler than this... Just get 2 DB-9 female connectors (A and B) and 3 wires (you could strip the from an alarm or ethernet cable). The pins on the DB-9 are numbered on the connector (look on the plastic part, there are some numbers there). Connect as follows: pin 2 on A to pin 3 on B p...

Re: RB450 bricked after RouterOS upgrading. Any solution Pls

On a straight cable, all pins are connected 1 to 1. A null modem cable will have Rx and TX switched: pin 2 to pin 3 and pin 3 to pin 2. You need a null modem cable for this to work. Basically you can make a cable only with 3 wires: 2->3, 3->2 and 5->5. It will work if handshake is turned off on the...

You can't tell how a pre-made serial cable is wired by looking at it unless they were nice enough to stamp "Null-Modem" in the plastic shroud of the connector. Re: PPTP link not working for Mikrtik routers over Inernet

If you didn't configure any firewall blocking, you can just access it from the internet the same way you access it from the internal lan. MikroTik doesn't know or care about what is internal and what is external.. it's all just a bunch of interfaces. Thank you so much andreacoppini! There is no fir...

Re: PPTP link not working for Mikrtik routers over Inernet

Glad I helped :) Now that you're saying you're connecting using a GPRS/3G modem, I'm not surprised it didn't work. Most mobile providers assume you just want to use the 3G connection for mail and web, so they restrict the connections to being near-unusable. In the same way, I wouldn't be surprised ...

Re: Please!Any one out there can solve this PPTP link problem

Do you have a default route set on the RB? If using DHCP-Client, there is a checkbox for set as default route. If it still doesn't work, it is likely your ISP is blocking required ports. Unless you specifically block it in your config, it will be configured to work already. There is nothing special...

Re: PPTP Link doesn't work between MT router & Windows-XP

First resolve PPPoE out from RB450. Is easier if you set PPPoE out from local WEB interface (ex:192.168.0.1:80) and set PPPoE and interfaces. When switching from NAT to Brigde on Netgear your ISP will see a different device (MAC) and maybe he has some kind of protection. For example in my country a...

Re: PPTP link not working for Mikrtik routers over Inernet

Simply put, PPTP is not designed to be used behind NAT. In fact it's one of the worse protocols you could use behind a NAT device. So, I wish you luck in your attempt, but I won't hold my breath. I've tried to implement PPTP and L2TP behind NAT devices. I've had some minor success with L2TP and PPT...

To access RB450 remotely, just go to http://IPADDRESS for website adrmin... or just use winbox which has much more control. As for why PPTP doesn't work... Either your home PC or home router is blocking it, or your ISP is blocking it, or your home ISP is blocking it. What internet and modem/router ...

Re: Please!Any one out there can solve this PPTP link problem

If you are able to enable DHCP on your modem, then I don't believe it is in true bridge mode. Also, you don't need DHCP client on your Mikrotik. Your Mikrotik should not be a DHCP client... it will get it's address directly from PPPOE, not DHCP. Once your modem is in bridge mode, there should not b...

Re: Please!Any one out there can solve this PPTP link problem

Your netgear ADSL modem/router may not be passing PPTP traffic (GRE) properly. It is best to put that modem into bridge mode, and let your mikrotik router receive the public ip. It is also possible that your ISP is blocking PPTP traffic (GRE). This may or may not be intentional. I have had that hap...

Ok. You use Netgear for routing and DDns. Try this: Winbox > PPP > Profiles > default > Local address 192.168.0.1 Remote address 192.168.10.100 (if is free) use Compression > Yes use Encryption > Yes But is better in the end to use NetGear in bridge mode as modem and do the PPoe ADSL,VPN, DHCP, fir...
