The idea is you have created HS by Setup using the default IP (10.5.50.1). The HS network has that IP and you're trying to configure the RADIUS to use it too. So I think the two user databases (in ip-hotspot-user and one in the UM) mess up. In my case for example I have LAN address (my router's add...

On a straight cable, all pins are connected 1 to 1. A null modem cable will have Rx and TX switched: pin 2 to pin 3 and pin 3 to pin 2. You need a null modem cable for this to work. Basically you can make a cable only with 3 wires: 2->3, 3->2 and 5->5. It will work if handshake is turned off on the...

You can't tell how a pre-made serial cable is wired by looking at it unless they were nice enough to stamp "Null-Modem" in the plastic shroud of the connector. You can tell how a pre-made serial cable is wired by using an ohm meter to determine which wire is connected to which pin at each...

avoid using 0.0.0.0/24 network - use 192.168.x.0/24 or 172.16-31.x.0/24 or 10.x.x.0/24 networks then you need 2 routes - one route to the remote network, other back, currently i do not see any routes back. okay! i have modified my network and new setup is as below: GW(MT1)<---bridge--->(MT2)[wlan1]...

Re: PPTP link not working for Mikrtik routers over Inernet

If you can access the modem's web interface, I'm assuming it's your modem which has the public IP. In that case you need to configure port forwarding on the modem to forward the WinBox pots to your MikroTik's IP (TCP / 8291) Hi andreacoppini! Thank you so much for your assistance. Re: PPTP link not working for Mikrtik routers over Inernet

Just because ping works, you can't assume all inbound traffic is allowed. Like I said before, most 3G providers block many inbound traffic, they would probably allow inbound pings because some outbound applications may fail if they blocked inbound pings. Also, by default MikroTik web interface runs...

Glad I helped :) Now that you're saying you're connecting using a GPRS/3G modem, I'm not surprised it didn't work. Do you have a default route set on the RB? If using DHCP-Client, there is a checkbox for set as default route. If it still doesn't work, it is likely your ISP is blocking required ports. Unless you specifically block it in your config, it will be configured to work already. There is nothing special...

First resolve PPPoE out from RB450. Is easier if you set PPPoE out from local WEB interface (ex:192.168.0.1:80) and set PPPoE and interfaces. If you are able to enable DHCP on your modem, then I don't believe it is in true bridge mode. Also, you don't need DHCP client on your Mikrotik. Your netgear ADSL modem/router may not be passing PPTP traffic (GRE) properly. It is best to put that modem into bridge mode, and let your mikrotik router receive the public ip. It is also possible that your ISP is blocking PPTP traffic (GRE). This may or may not be intentional. I have had that hap...
