Re: DSL and MIKROTIK MTU

This depends on your DSL Provider and the MTU they give you. Typically, 1420-1440 works well, but if it is a true bridge DSL then 1500 should be fine. If it is a PPPoE session it would make a difference as well. the current situation is bridge mode and no ppoe session, ok will stick on 1500. thanks...

Re: Different dns servers

Sure. Destination NAT can do that. Let's say the office network behind the ether2 interface is to use a DNS server at 1.1.1.1 and the engineering department behind the ether4 interface is to use a DNS server at 2.2.2.2. /ip firewall nat add chain=dstnat in-interface=ether2 protocol=udp dst-port=53 ...

I have set up several VPNs between MT RB750G devices. Only one of them is giving me some difficulty. The problem is that the tunnel works as long as you're passing traffic from one side to the other. Here is the basic queue tree I have set up at home. Modify it to match your bandwidth and packet mark needs. Your LAN(s) is going to be the Download portion of the queue and the WAN(s) is the upload. You'll need a queue for each WAN(s)/LAN(s) to segment it the way you want to. /queue tree add burst...

Yup, capped it around 13M instead of 15M. Getting around 1.4-1.5MB/s instead of 1.5-1.6MB/s. Its worth trading up some speed for this kind of manageability though.

Thanks again for all your help! :)

For that amount of traffic I would rather use a dedicated server running Squid proxy.

I think the MikroTik web proxy only reports a hit if the object was cached. Could you perhaps state what RB you're using and which version of ROS?
